This is a great resolution.
Dover, DE – Tomorrow, 16 state lawmakers will introduce House Concurrent Resolution 50, which recommends Delmarva Power be denied the ability to pass onto its customers the costs it has incurred opposing the power purchase agreement (PPA)with Bluewater Wind. Since its refusal to sign the PPA in December, 2007, Delmarva has opposed Bluewater Wind’s proposal during various legislative proceedings and by means of an extensive print and radio advertising campaign.
Not to mention that the adds were full of flat out lies.
“We cannot stand idly by and allow any corporate entity to further burden hardworking Delawareans who already feel a financial crunch due to the economy,” said Rep. John A. Kowalko (D – Newark South). “Delmarva Power has continued to obstruct the proceedings of the power purchase agreement and is now attempting to do so at the expense of their customers.”
HCR 50, designed to protect Delmarva Power ratepayers from additional fees, will be unveiled at a press conference tomorrow afternoon. The bill has bipartisan support from both the State House of Representatives and the State Senate.
Go John! Now we only need to get Copeland and McDowell to stop using taxpayer money to lobby for Delmarva Power.
