Shorter David Horowitz
David Horowitz is on my TV right now talking about his new book, “Party of Defeat” which I gather is an anti-American screed about how if you don’t support George Bush you should be put in jail for treason.
I’m not kidding

Horowitz documented his evolution from a Red Diaper Baby to an apostle of Liberty and some find the truth distasteful.
He began to see the light when his thought that ‘gay bathhouses’ might had more to do with the spread of AIDS than any Federal policy. This was deemed as homophobic.
His support for the Black Panthers vanished when a friend who was their bookeeper was tortured and murdered by the thugs.
He knows the hard left from the inside, all about the Limousine Liberals and White Liberal Guilt.
Horowitz is a radical and extremist.
Horowitz was at NYU a little while ago praising the MEK a state dept. listed sponsor of terrorism inside of Iran…..
Today’s Conservative ideology is so unpalatable to the masses that it has to be hidden in phases that pander to fear and hate. The application of these non sequiturs are usually in the guise of nostalgia and catchy alliteration.
Thanks for the example, Art!
ugh, I saw some of his bullshit yesterday. He is darth Cheney’s boy alright.
Any serious student of politics will see the truth in Horowitz’ book. I wonder how the ultimate Democratic nominee will be able to survive the implications of this once the American people find out the truth.
Here’s my prediction, and remember you heard it here first:
Landslide for McCain.
yuh, Horowitz came out with this peice of crap just in time for the DEM nominee solidification of the man who was against the invasion of Iraq.
Horowitz claimed on teevee the other day that the DEMs threw Lieberman out of their party.
Sheesh! He lost fair and square in the primary. Only after he lost did his fellow senators jump to support the state of CT’s chosen nominee.
Lieberman won his Independent seat because of the GOPer vote. And the DEMs are still giving him a committee chair.
Whatever Horowitz sez, ignore it. Or better yet, start laughing.
“Or better yet, start laughing.”
Or start crying becuase it is so over the top. I cannot see how calling everyone who disagrees with you names makes it and keeps our mutual ability to have a free conscience alive. To me it seems like just trashing each other. I am always amazed that the left never hit Horowitz back with arguments and allow him and his ideology to frame discussions.
Point is, they should hit back and call this screed for what it is, “radical neo-fascist extemist screed.” When you look at it in the history of the world, that is what it looks like. There is only a culture war if you beleive that there is….sometimes we need to let those folks know that not everything in life is war….the guys who had that idea were not the ones who won WWII.
We can and should learn from each other and work together, but we cannot do that if we face a torrent of anger from one side and the other side trying to be as polite as possible and use reason over screed.
“Horowitz documented his evolution from a Red Diaper Baby to an apostle of Liberty and some find the truth distasteful.”
Funny, isn’t it, that he went from left to right without ever touching down anywhere near normal.
“Any serious student of politics will see the truth in Horowitz’ book.”
Any serious student of politics considers David Horowitz one of the lightest-weight intellectual wannabes on the American Right — a place where you’ll find no “serious students” of politics. If you enter the study of every issue already claiming to know the answer, you’re not a “student,” chum.
Any serious student of politics considers David Horowitz one of the lightest-weight intellectual wannabes on the American Right — a place where you’ll find no “serious students” of politics.
Which is a thing, considering that “lightest-weight intellectual wannabes” is something of a protected industry on the American Right.
Which is part of the reason why, Brian, the American left doesn’t smack these guys back especially directly (except in some appearances and certainly as they try to make all of this light-weightedness into policy). Folks like Horowitz are well-funded for their performances on behalf of the right, while left thinkers and authors are left to old school competition in the marketplace.
At least some lefty threw a pie on Tom Friedman this year already.
Brian’s point is well taken, though. The vaccuum of ignorance is fueled by truck or non-truck.
