Really, Honest To Goodness, I Swear To (Insert Diety Here) …
We started brainstorming again while live blogging Tuesday and we are going to have a blogger awards nite banquet in February of 2009.
Here is the timeline:
June 2008 – Planning Committe Formed & Meets
August 2008 – Dinner Committee Settles on Venue & Speaker
Octotber 2008 – Awards Comittee publishs nomination requirments – nominations opened.
January 2009 – Nominations Closed.
February 2009 – Open bar, etc.
I don’t care if this first year it is five people meeting at Besty Ross Pizza somewhere. I’m absolutly convinced that in five years this event will be a huge fixiture on the state’s political calendar.
If you’d like to serve on a committee let me know. We want this to be a non-partisan, no ideological event that supports and promotes all of the poltical blogging in Delaware. Because what is good for blogging is good for DelawareLiberal.
As I said liveblogging, I’m in. I’ll offer to chair the planning committee as well.
I’m in as well… unless you don’t want too many people from one blog.
Great & Great.
I’d email this to my list of delaware bloggers, but I don’t have one.
Can I get some sort of achievement award for closing comments on DW?
If you would like, you can represent DW on the committee. But you’ll have to get approval before you make any comments in the meeting.
Can’t we all just get along?
I will be creating my own award. since we are liberal, I say we give out awards to everyone. We don’t want the crappy blogs like “jokers to the right” to get upset when we pass them over
“Lifetime Achievement in Hotness”
awarded to the person able to hold a delusional thought the longest. And there will be some competition…
Sounds good but Betsy Ross is much more appropriate. The food is better and cheaper than that other place and the name is much more fitting for a political event.
Fixed!
Merci!
Why not the Lobby House in Dover? Yes, it’s more pricey than Betsy Ross, but just imagine the snarkiness of this group of wingnuts (me included) celebrating their blogginess at a place called the “Lobby House.” Plus, you never know who we might catch making deals at that time of the year.
BWAAA-HA-HA-HA-HA!!!!
, I say we give out awards to everyone.

that works for the Middletown Hummer’s parade.
What’s this about giving out hummers to everyone in Middletown?
Wow, Rick! My how we digress – and so quickly!
