  1. TRUTH TELLER says:

Mike has only been successful because besides being a nice guy the Dem’s in Delaware have supported him by not running a qualified candidate against him. Right now we have two very good candidates running for governor one of which should be running for Mike’s seat

  2. Stella Bluez says:

    To answer your question…No.

Most low-info folks I know could give a rats-ass about local politics….”Mike Castle he’s a senator?? Right?? He must be good, he is still in there”…….

  3. Frieda Berryhill says:

Stella you are right “He must be good, he is still in there”…….good laugh but true

  4. Rebecca says:

We are the weird ones. Everybody else couldn’t give a fig. We have been given the most wonderful gift of America and most Americans couldn’t care less.

  5. X Stryker says:

    DRAFT CARNEY!

  6. RickJ19958 says:

Why would Carney give up his guaranteed Gubernatorial nomination to run against Castle? It would make no sense.

You do realize he’s going to beat Markell by 10 points, right?

  7. liz allen says:

Why should we send Carney to Washington? Tell me what Carney has done for Delaware first, besides being a “minner” hanger on!

We have a great candidate Karen Hartley-Nagle who isnt in the pocket of anyone….she will work for the people….imagine that?

Jerry Northington is a one issue guy ….the War…and even on that he doesnt have a clue. He doesnt know the issues, and confuses “socialized medicine” government controlled with universal single payer health care which gets the government and the for profits out of our lives.

    mike castle is a republican?

  9. Senator Tom Carper says:

    I like Republicans.

  10. David says:

KHN is a good candidate, but your party will ignore her and she will go down like the others. I don’t mind. HA HA

The truth is most voters aren’t single issue. Carper, Castle, and Biden all voted for the war and its funding. Why single out Mike? He has done a lot of good things that people know about. Your argument will not carry the day.

  11. Observer says:

Singling out Mike is essential because he is in the Republican minority party in the House and his effectiveness has diminished with all the new Democratic faces and the new Democratic faces to come. Castle is obsolete and a relic and will not be able to acquire any sponsors or co-sponsors to any of his bills. His earmarks are significantly under the threashold of where they should be. Castle has lost it with the change in the House. It is time for him to say goodbye!

  12. Mike McK. says:

What’s wrong with Karen Harley-Nagel? If the Democrats gave her a legit. shot and some money to help her out, I think she could be a solid candidate. She seems to really care about the issues and be more serious this year about taking on our Republican Representative, who in no way represents the majority view of Delawareans.

  13. Al Mascitti says:

“our Republican Representative, who in no way represents the majority view of Delawareans.”

Bold assertion, but I think it’s based on a faulty premise — that Castle’s voting record represents the man.

The problem any Democrat will have is that you don’t run against the voting record, you run against the person. And Mike Castle the person sounds a lot different from what you’d assume from someone with his voting record.

If you go by what he says, rather than how he votes, I think he DOES represent the views of a majority of Delawareans. That’s why he has been elected with vast majorities almost every time he has run.

You can all speak against that reality all the way to November, but it won’t win you the election. He has many millions in his war chest, and that will buy lots of media time in which all he’ll have to do is sound reasonable to make your premise ineffective.

  14. AL all we have to do is rescue your comment and run with it to make the point of how much of a fool Castle makes of his constituents. Thanks!

  15. Al Mascitti says:

That’s not all you need to do. You also need to find a way to counter seven-figure spending by Castle to get out the message he wants to get out.

  16. X Stryker says:

KHN is a fine candidate – who is never going to have enough money to beat Castle. I hope her 2Q fundraising figures will prove me wrong, but I doubt it. Carney will be starting off with a 7 figure CoH total – that gives him a fighting chance against Castle.

As far as Carney/Markell goes, I like ’em both, so this is my way of trying to vote for both of them.
