Game Changing Voter Registration

Filed in National by on June 10, 2008

If Delaware’s Democratic Party PoohBahs fully grasp the significance of what is going to happen this November I’d be shocked.

To realize that potential, Obama has already staked considerable resources in building Vote for Change, the campaign’s voter registration and mobilization drive. Already, in Louisiana, there are reports of parish registrar offices swamped with some 70,000 new applications from a voter drive paid for by the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. Paid Omama staff have been sighted on the ground in Georgia and Virginia, and virtually everywhere else we checked, the word in most of the state parties is that Obama troops specifically tasked with voter registration are on the way.

BTW – This is another thing that blockhead Clinton supporters never comprehended.

And here’s another reason that the Obama campaign is a game-changing campaign. 50-state strategy indeed:

I keep thinking if Obama wins, how much will he be able to change things? I am keeping my fingers crossed that these past seven years do not get blamed on him by some distored republican logic. I think if he picks Webb or Biden as a running mate it would be a good thing. Then I think with a democratc majority in both houses we can get some momentum for positive change.

My ideal would be to see a democratic and libertarian majority. Then I think we could have the appropriate discussions about policy changes that need to occur to make our country more effective and ensure the kind of leadership we deserve. That would bring this nation together in a fundemental way. One side reminding us of our ideals, the other working out solutions to make them work for all the people.

Some very good points but if my memory servers me right we had a President in the White House and a DEM Congress back in the early 90’s and we couldn’t get universal health Care passed then. Tom Foley in the House and Michell in the Senate stopped it from happening. We were at least lucky to get Bills tax plan passed without one Repuk vote and despite the doom and gloom predicted by then Senator Phil Gram ( McCain’s ECOMNIC advisor) the 90’s took off

TT – Things could be different this time. If Obama wins, he may have long coattails. This would give him real influence in Congress as many will owe their seats to him. But I agree that Congress has generally been a disappointment.
