Urban Legends
Good urban legends never die, no matter how often or how completely they are debunked. Urban legends capture the public imagination because a segment of the public longs for them to be true – and so they endure. Here are two that will have to join the ranks of the likes of; ‘Do Not Call’ List for Cell Phones? and Procter & Gamble is a front company for Satan.
1) Democrats are Divided.
2) America is a Conservative Country.
Expect to hear those urban rumors quite a bit over the next 6 months even thought they are both patently false. Sadly, the segment of the public that longs for these urban legends to be true is the nation’s editorial boards.
Jason, the link is broken
D’oh!
i hope another urban legend is that republicans have a stranglehold on the presidency
Just in case one of these divided dems is thinking about voting for McCain, he`s taking financial advice from Phil Gramm, the deregulation guru responsable for Enron and the sub- prime mess.
“Conservatism hasn’t failed; we have failed Conservatism.”
If I hear this bullshit line one more time…ugh!
Look at our country from Day One. No matter how many times we’ve taken steps back, we’ve always overcame through the forces of inclusion and helping our fellow citizen, not a f’ing handout, but helping hand when needed. (Quite Jesus-like, if you ask me. )
Conservatism is Temperance.
