Congratulations Newlyweds
I would like to propose a toast. June 16th will be the wedding anniversary for Californians that have been waiting a long time to get married. These Californians have been riding in the back of the bus for a long time and today they had the opportunity to express their love for each other, share legal obligations together and when the time comes, visit their ailing spouse in the hospital as family and inherit their estate as a spouse should.
They have been forbidden from doing so by people that fear that the institution of marriage is threatened. I’m not sure how it can be more threatened, with 50% of marriages ending in divorce, politicians afraid to express their sexuality except for airport restrooms with complete strangers and the amount of infidelity that exists in the modern American marriage.
To those brave souls that are taking the plunge in California, I say congratulations. And you are living, loving proof that love will conquer hate every time.
Many years of happiness to them all! And I hope that all 50 states will recognize their unions sooner rather than later….
New York already has!!
Why are these people trying to wreck my heterosexual marriage?
From what Smitty says, Jason, the only thing wrecking your marriage is a missing deck. 🙂
Oh god, I only read the title. I thought you were going to say what I feared….Bush and McCain finally tied the knot….after their long love affair…they finally told Liberman it couldn’t be a love triangle anymore.
Why couldn’t they find some hot lesbians, like the ones on Howard Stern? Was Portia de Rossi busy or something? Ew.
Congrats California!!! It’s about time too. We here in Delaware should be so lucky. But until we get rid of the old farts in Dover, it ain’t gonna happen.
Nope, G. She was busy going down on Ellen.
Oh right, those two are getting “married” at the Bush ranch.
