Holy Frijoles

The Center for Responsive Politics reports that Presidential campaigns have had $1,000,000,000 given to them this cycle.  For those that are bad at counting (McCain supporters and such), that is a BILLION dollars.  The report say that this is more money than the GDP of 23 countries.

I am amazed and a little bit annoyed.  It is a bit sad that we spend so much and all we get out of the thing is a freaking question about a Chinese-made flag pin, stolen recipes and underground emails about a candidates religion.
