What kind of bike did you have growing up?

I remember having a few.  The one I was most proud of was my “Macho II”.  I had that thing decked out man.  Hutch handle bars, shimano pedals, Uni seat….then it got stolen at the ACME in Fairfax….

it wasnt till i found a bike at the acme in fairfax that i finally got my hutch handlebars for my supergoose

  2. I never owned my own bike. Being the seventh of eight with a family who was budgeting for every kid to go to college I also got hand-me-down boyz horn-rimmed black glasses for my first pair in 2nd grade (needless to say they were put in the back of the desk every morning -hear the violins’ yowling yet?)
I did ‘borrow’ my older sister’s beautiful aqua and white adult-sized Schwinn once only to take an inch of flesh off of my left knee trying to turn the thing at the bottom of the Warwick-to-Rockingham in Windsor Hills. OUCH.

A Schwinn Spitfire, which was stolen sometime around the fifth or sixth grade, followed by a Schwinn Speedster. In the little town of Mt Sterling, Kentucky, I went everywhere with those bikes.

    Started with a Mongoose…then a GT freestyle….then I turned 16.
