Why LiberalGeek is Delaware’s Hottest Blogger

Filed in National by on July 14, 2008

Let me first congratulate my opponents on a fine campaign run by both of them.  They truly have done well, considering what they have to work with.

I don’t have the advantage of years of submarine service (you do know what they say about Navy men, don’t you?).  Nor do I have the ability to squint in the mirror and somehow see Alec Baldwin, like some see the Virgin Mary on a pastrami sandwich.  No, I don’t have those advantages.

My advantage comes from my mind and the things that I can use it for.  I can use it to bring home the bacon or fry it up in a pan.  I can even break up said bacon to make a wonderful topping for a salad.  Don’t let my name fool you.  Liberalgeek doesn’t mean that I wear horn-rim glasses held together with duct tape.  Upon meeting me, Mike Matthews exclaimed, “Why, you don’t look geeky at all!”  Just this past weekend, Dana Garrett stated that until I introduced myself as Liberalgeek, he thought I was Delaware’s Hottest Blogger.  Dana, you were, of course, right the first time.

Ladies and Gentlemen, look inside your hearts.  Do you really need a blogger around the house that can sell stuff on a submarine or a guy that can fix your computer and fix us both a drink while the hard drive is being defragmented?

As I said, Jason and Donviti have truly put on a good show.  Either of them could have been Iowa’s Hottest Blogger or perhaps the Twin Cities Hottest Blogger.  But this is Delaware, and our standards are higher when it comes to hotness.  Remember to vote for LiberalGeek on July 31st.  All proceeds go to send Tommywonk to Denver.

    I’m telling you, go with

“… and I have found the Lord in my heart.” Worked wonders for the GOP in the 1990s.

  2. Mike Matthews exclaimed, “Why, you don’t look geeky at all!”

I mean COME ON….why don’t you go out and get a blind guy to endorse you for christ’s sake. He would have more cred than Matthews…

Still holding out until the female candidates come forth….

Since when did hotness become only a male commodity…….?

  4. good point, I hadn’t thought of putting geek in a dress, but a push up bra and some lipstick might help him out a little

    Geek,

    Words, words, words…

Stay tuned for some scientific evidence of my hotness.

  6. Joanne Christian says:

Liberal Geek–I have no questions–you are disarming….this will be tough!!!!!

  7. anon says:

Joanne, you would make a good liberal, come over to the dark side.

  8. anon says:

JC – I picture you as one of those blue-haired liberal activist Republican woman (in the future of course – right now you are young and hot!!) who supports affirmative action and settlement houses and Planned Parenthood and homes for wayward women to recover from their abortions and hot young union activists like Marlon Brando… you know, kind of like Barbara Pierce Bush.

WTF are you doing with the VRWC?

  9. Joanne Christian says:

anon–the dark side?Oh..that was maybe my first thirty years. You should turn the lights on to the politics of Delaware.
Did the support work (I’m a real hands-on person), to much of what you characterize above–had my epiphany on an Indian reservation, swore off Democratic membership, and Teddy Kennedy politics–have been in recovery every since. Confirmed my decision w/ Bill Clinton. Have had an occasional relapse, with some local Democratic democrats (though I don’t consider it a relapse, because there were very credible representatives). Remained Independent as long as possible–because I am–and committed to “blue hair” because of the whole primary no-voice vote here in Delaware. I can now have my Democratic heart, Republican good sense w/ fiscal responsibility, and Independent choice of who really SERVES in the best interest. I WILL NOT buy into the whole you can’t get elected in Delaware unless you are a Democrat thing…..because there are far too may careerists in this state, who have lost their ideological compass and think they’re Democrats!!!! Others join them as one less obstacle to overcome in election–they tell me that up front–I’m OK w/ it. OTHERWISE, some of us have to keep plugging along–cry foul on their SELF-serving antics–and suffer the consequences of being right (as in correct, gang), but not the right party!! I keep my politics local, my mind open, registration Republican, vote independently, and my TEMPER HOT in these matters!!! It’s my own little formula of not being a cursory Democrat in this state–but a conscientious voter….try it!!
