Breaking: Celia Cohen Mentioned Mike Castle Without Praising Him
To any longtime Celia Cohen readers this passage is shocking:
There are three women running for statewide office in 2008, but for the most part it seems like old times — when women got ballot slots that had gone begging. Republican Christine O’Donnell is running against Biden. Democrat Karen Hartley-Nagle is in a Democratic congressional primary leading to a race against Castle. Democrat Karen Weldin Stewart is making her third try for insurance commissioner.
Castle got a passing reference without a single mention of his greatness.
Granted it was a story about “women” in Delaware politics, but I need a cold compress. My world has been turned upside down. I’ve been reading Cohen for 7 years and in that time she has never mentioned Mike Castle without somehow mentioning his greatness.
Typically that sentence would read, “Democrat Karen Hartley-Nagle is in a Democratic congressional primary for the right to lose to Mike Castle who rarely polls bellow 70% statewide.”
Mike Castle could use a primary challenge but considering the caliber of his General Election opponents over the years, he can hold his seat as long as he wants it.
In the land of F students, the one with a D (grade, not party label) stands out.
There will be a lot of nose-holding in November but look for another Castle victory.
He is also a rather nice guy.
ho, hum, I saw a poll tonight that said that Castle’s 44 freakin’ years in office is being rejected.
Oh yeah,
and may the best lady win in all of these non-incumbent/party endorsed ahead races. ;-0
suck on that, Celia.
oops, ‘cept for Biden, D’OH!
I want to see these polls Nancy. They would be newsworthy.
Jason, it is an internal poll. I’ll see what I can do to push some results out.
