Clarification: George Meldrum of Wilmington said Monday that he held a fundraiser for state Treasurer Jack Markell in August 2005, not the spring of 2007 as he told the News Journal on Friday. (snip) Meldrum apologized for the incorrect date and said that Markell’s use of his money for the 2006 campaign was appropriate.
Whoopsie…only two years off. Well I guess that’s what happens when you rush out some transparently asinine damage control. Maybe if Beth Miller was a journalist instead of a press release transcribing hack she could have sifted out that lie mistake before it made it into print.
I’m confused. Why is the NJ’s fault? Meldrum was correcting his own misstatement. Or am I reading this wrong?

Are you kidding the Stooge misprints, misrepresents stuff all the time. They are supposed to the the “public record”, they are not!
Ask Tom Gordon about all the misrepresentations they made against him, with no facts, and when they were proven wrong, REFUSED to print retractions.
