Ron Williams Works For John Carney: The Smoking Gun

Filed in National by on July 30, 2008

Check this out.

On Sunday Williams wrote, “I have the latest in-house Democratic Party poll…” and he went on to relate what a load of crap it was with crazy ass responses like “Ruth Ann Minner is popular.” …stuff nobody could believe.

Well he sequestered other results until today.   Why?  These are results that Williams wanted to push as legitimate so he kept them out of Sunday’s column.  Equally bullshity results such as “Carney is winning by a large margin.”

Not only that – but Williams called it a “in-house Democratic Party poll” but is it?

Turns out the poll, was run by Vince D’Anna, former staffer for Sen. Joe Biden, under the name of Delaware Survey Research…” Sounds objective right? Wrong.

Williams is knowingly covering up for the fact that Vince D’Anna is a Carney supporter.

There he is as plain as day on the Carney site right between M. Edward Danberg and Mike D’Armi.

Long Story Short: Carney Camp gives Williams some bogus polling. Williams knows it is bogus but in order to get the positive Carney stuff out – he sequesters it and on top of all that he pretends that the poll was objective and not Carney material in the first place.

I suppose you could believe that Williams didn’t know that D’Anna was working for Carney, but to believe that you would have to believe Ron Williams is dumber than a box of rocks. Now that I think about it, that is a possibility.

not to mention, this poll was done back in June, way before the ads started, adgate happened, or people were really paying attention. So the bogus poll is not only bogus, but old. This was completely irresponsible and misleading for wRong to print.

  2. delawaredem says:

Indeed, this poll may be the same poll a candidate informed me of back in early July. Another problem with the poll is that it had a horrible sample size (ie 150-200 people).

So it is a bogus poll through and through.

  3. jason330 says:

Sadly, 1,000 times more people read Ron WIlliams dishonest, lying BS than read this blog.

BTW JB, Thanks for catch on the date. Williams: “the latest in house Democratic Party poll”

    What a loser.

  4. cassandra m says:

According to Williams’ editorial, this poll made 1000 calls and got 430 responses. MOE is +-5%. No mention of when the poll was taken. Internals on this would be awfully interesting, I imagine.

  5. delawaredem says:

    5% MOE is pretty high.

  6. cassandra m says:

It is — and I think that the response rate for a poll that is targeted at registered Dems (or any very specific population) is awfully bad. But perhaps XStryker will stop by to weigh in on that.

  7. delawaredem says:

Vince is on Al Mascitti’s show right now, says that Carney-Markell are statisically tied.

  8. jason330 says:

Williams is such a lying fraud, it makes me sick.

Again, the NJ circulation in 2004 was 117,000. That means it has about 85,000 readers today.

They should be forced to print a retraction and fire Williams for his utter lack of journalistic integrity.

  9. Al Mascitti says:

Correction: D’Anna told me he conducted the poll for Tom Gordon. Gordon and Coons are the two who are “statistically tied,” with Coons ahead 23-21. Carney led Markell 31-14, but with 41 percent undecided.

  10. jason330 says:

As of LAST JUNE ! I hope someone pointed out that little tid bit.

  11. Whew, this entire thread and post is full of it. Rumor-monger-gate! I will try to get a hold of the data for y’all.

  12. Al Mascitti says:

I have the whole poll, but I don’t think D’Anna sent it to me so I could post it for the world. If you ask him for it, I don’t know why he wouldn’t give it to you. He’s in the phone book.
