WGMD Can’t Spell or Tell What is News.

WGMD

First, it is spelled “poll.”

Second, an unscientific internet poll on your own website is not a poll you report as news.   For example, I haven’t reported the stunning (or perhaps unsurprising news) that Joe Biden is the runaway favorite for the Democratic Vice Presidential nomination.

It’s been clinically proven that listening to WGMD makes one dumber and more likely to [redacted, only McCain thinks spousal abuse is funny].

  2. TRUTH TELLER says:

I am stuck with this dumb station down here in Sussex County that’s why mu car radio is tuned to NPR

  3. delawaredem says:

My father, who lives in Dagsboro, DE, was forced to get Sirius Radio.

  4. fox news affect or is it Effect?

  5. Jason330 says:

Poles favor Lee. Czecks and Lithuanians pick Protack.

But seriously folks I think that our dear friend Ms Evans might have let her preference get the best of her.

  6. Joe M says:

This Pole does not favor Lee.

  7. anonymous says:

What do you want from a barely educated group of freaks lead by the morning fake Christian drunk, the mid morning depressed loser, and the afternoon racist/woman hater?

At least they spelled “GOP” right.

  8. But seriously folks I think that our dear friend Ms Evans might have let her preference get the best of her.

    er….
    Jason,
Maria Evans left WGMD over a month ago to work for Lee as Communications Director. She had nothing to do with this poll.

One thing that DE Liberal staples like to do is attack the supposed messanger when there is news that you can’t use to support your immediate world view.

Behaving like a two-year old sums it up.

I refer here to the attacks on Vince D’anna (a private citizen who informed me that he is closley watching the DE Liberal’s slandering of his polling company) when there was a poll that contained data to support a Carney lead at the time of the poll. I hope that you guys apologize and look a bit closer at who leaked the information about that poll.

  9. Trailor Park says:

DELAWAREDEM. Go to WGMD’s website (I know, painful) and site search ADKINS. You will be amazed at how many articles on John ATKINS spell his name ADKINS. Better yet, many of the articles spell it both ways in the same article. They are dumb as rocks down there in Sussex County. But! It doesn’t matter when you’re trailor park hosts are selling trailor park “news” to trailor parks in Millsboro.

  10. miscreant says:

You have the time to spell check the WGMD blog? Hey, at least some of us can spell trailer, and know when to use the word “your” instead of “you’re”.

  11. Jason330 says:

D’anna hurt himself by pushing that garbage poll as legit.

Thanks for the update on Maria though.

  12. Al Mascitti says:

In an unrelated media matter, did you hear the new Democratic ad for Carney (plus Blevins and Hall-Long)? Turns out they’re against cancer. It also includes a disclaimer that no candidate’s campaign was involved in the ad.

  13. Joe M says:

Against cancer? That’s a bold stand!

  14. cassandra m says:

It seems to me that if D’Anna has issues with how his poll was represented he would present himself here (with his crosstabs) to show us where we were wrong. I’d be delighted to set up a thread for him and he can have at it.

  15. Jason330 says:

    Al,

it isnice to know that these folks are against something. If you had to figure out what Carney and Hall-long stood for based on their accomplishments, it would take some digging.

  16. Al Mascitti says:

Who leaked it, Nancy? Wouldn’t that be the Gordon camp, since that’s who the poll was done for?

  17. Jason330 says:

Al, I let that threat slide, but the more I think about it the more it makes me laugh.

Come and get me D’Anna. We’ll find out if you lied to Ron Williams or Williams lied to NJ readers in discovery.

  18. RSmitty says:

Speaking of BHL, I’d like to know the inspiration of Andrea Daley getting into the R-primary for SD10 in the waning moments. From what I understand is that she is a D-turned-R for this seat. Now from what I HEARD is that she wants to take on BHL in the general (I think it’s motivated by a dislike of BHL, but not sure). Taking BHL on in a primary would probably be more daunting in that her RD8 machine would sweat rivers to get her through the primary.

Nancy Willing: I know you have conversed with Andrea a few times in the past. Do you have any insight on this?

  19. RSmitty says:

FWIW, here is what I was referring to with Andrea (Andye) Daley in the primary from Nancy’s blog. Anything new yet, Nancy? I’m already hoping Andye faces off with BHL in the general!

  20. Al Mascitti says:

Jason: The question to ask is how “likely voters” were identified. If it was based on past voting in Democratic primaries, it’s going to boost the numbers for party favorites, because it’s hardcore party types who make up the typical 15% turnout.

I asked who leaked the poll because I’d be surprised if it wasn’t Gordon. Gordon has longstanding ties to Williams; the poll skews in Gordon’s favor; and, not least, it gives a boost to John Carney. Gordon wants back into the game, and a big part of his game was scratching the backs of politicians throughout the state.

By the way, the idea that because Vince is a “private citizen” you can’t say anything nasty about his poll is so laughable it could only have come from one of the braindead Democrats she’s been hanging out with down at Gordon HQ.

  21. Nancy Willing: I know you have conversed with Andrea a few times in the past. Do you have any insight on this?

You betcha that Andey Daley is going after BHL.

Daley got her teeth into DelDOT a few years ago over the bait and switch DelDOT’s 301 workshops. DelDOT, in trying to get their cake while eating ours too, , made a northwestern-most 301 (Summit Bridge/896) spur magically appeared on the final route’s maps. The faked-up spur’s costs also appeared on the Bond Bill requests from DelDOT this year, where Andey had some success in stemming its funding stream.
There is still a lot of bad blood between the Joint Bond Bill Committee and DelDOT over the many sneaking-things-in-front-of-others that goes on (now-a-days from the HIGH DEMs in power).
Pam Scott-Paul Clarky secured a promise (via Ruth Ann Minner) for DelDOT money to go to roads for Bayberry. The 301 project is largely seen as the culmination of the agreement with Nathan Hayward, Scott and Bayberry since the chosen 301 acts like a beltway for the city. Nice, when one huge project can get that kind of public infrastructure agreement on the public dime impacting us all for decades all because of a public-private deal was struck in 2004, just as Paul Clark was gearing to lead council land use process.
Anyhoo, Daley has some interesting-as-hell documents that disgrace BHL. Emails FOIA’d from DelDOT. I imagine she intends to use them.

  22. Nancy,

I hope Andrea will release some of those documents to us. They sound awfully interesting.

  23. Al, you must pay closer attention. The leak I am referring to here is a person who must have taken part in some of the polling itself. I have a good idea who it is but I haven’t spoken to this person about it yet.

I will have to compare notes. Is this person the one who did all of the talking to Delaware Liberal writers about the poll and to Tom Noyes who weighed in with supposed ‘insider information’ presented as discrediting the poll? I doubt very much if Tom Gordon is the one who is talking to Noyes or is the unidentified candidate who spoke to Delaware DEM about this poll….

You have some kind of itch about Gordon that is coloring your ability to comprehend the written word. Gordon put the poll out via D’Anna. WTF about that is so mysterious? Why and what would Gordon be leaking about this poll?

D’Anna offered the Gordon-Coons data to Ron Williams. I asked Vince about it myself yesterday and he said that Williams asked for the entire poll and was given a copy (as were you, dear Mascitti, from what you wrote).

Williams was the one who published the data on Carney-Markell and he did it all on his ownsome. D’Anna had no control over what Williams wrote.

  24. Mike, I will send them to you. I have the pdf.

  25. I just sent what I had. Also, Andye is the way it is spelled…oops
