I see the Eagles being competitive this year, but they are in a very tough division and i can’t see them beating the Cowboys twice… once perhaps. Dallas will probably win the division and the Eagles will have to hope for a wildcard spot… i think i can see them getting 10 wins which, 90-95% of the time, is good enough. Remember that the schedules for the NFL are very favorable to underachieving teams that stink the previous year (i know they were only 8-8 but that was last in the division) so they’re going to play a few lackluster teams.
The Phillies will win the division and lose in the first round of the playoffs to whatever NL Central team clinches the wildcard spot. I love em but they don’t have the pitching to hold up in a playoff series.
Dammit Andy, stop reading my mind! You typed out pretty much the exact same thing I was thinking.
The real question is…who will win our fantasy football league this year – the mighty Bionic Dorkboys or the lousy scrubs that call themselves “Reiding Rainbow.” Mwahahahahaa
Eagles get in on a wild card…I hate to say who wins the division, but you have to give it to the cock-a-roaches, they should be a solid regular season team (and the now-obigatory post-season flop).
It’s so freaking hard to tell with the Phils, but all three (Phils, Mets, and fish) are wildly inconsistent. I think the Phils do just enough to get the division. If they play St L for the wild card, then they *might* win that series, but if it’s Milwaukee, then I just don’t think they can take them in a series. I never thought in my life I would say that in a single sentence, about the Phils and the Brewers. Ungh.
You guys talking about the Phils in the World Series are nuts. I mean, I love the team and would love to see it – but they simply don’t have the starting pitching.
And as Smitty said, there’s the nagging inconsistency – they’ll score 20 runs when Jamie “Old Man River” Moyer has a bad day and then only manage 1 run and have Hamels take the loss in a game where he strikes out a dozen! It simply blows my mind.
I’ll be thrilled if they win one playoff series. If they do somehow make it to the WS and face the Angels, Sox, or Rays, then I agree they’re getting destroyed.
The Eagles will stink like usual.

Oh man, it’s on now. 🙂
If McNabb stays healthy they should make it to the NFC Championship game.
phils – world series champs, baby!
eagles? I predict they’ll finish last and be relegated to the CFL.
Phillies will get to the World Series, but they will lose to either the Rays, Sox, or Angels.
Eagles will finish 7-9.
