Magical GOP Unicorns With The Experience We (don’t) Need
With Dr. Mike Katz in the race, Voter’s in the 4th SD have an opportunity to have some great representation in Dover to make up for the “do nothing” Copeland years.
They also have the opportunity to elect a run-of-the-mill dumbass GOPer in “Son of Clatworthy (c).”
Nemski points out in the comment section of this post that the “Son of Clatworthy” (c) platform is based on magical unicorn economics.
cuz, you know…
We can cut taxes on everyone and have enough money left to throw millions at fortune 500 companies to come to Delaware for a few years. The Magical GOP Unicorn said so.
Michael Katz is an outstanding candidate. Sadly, he has a primary. His first hurdle is to beat D Durham. She filed to be a democrat on March 31st of this year so she could vote for Obama (oops, her first lie) since that primary was held in February. Doesn’t matter though. Durham is a lifelong republican and switched parties at the very last minute. Tell all of your B’wine hundred/Hockesson friends in the 4th Senate district to vote for Katz on Sept 9th. It would be amazing to bring that district to the Democrat side of the aisle. A vote for Durham would only bring it there temporarily…’til she had the time to switch back.
How can Katz lose when he donated so much money to himself? It’s almost Markellian.
PI, thanks for the heads up on Durham . . . though I had already decided to vote for Dr. Mike.
I can’t wait until he gets elected. Someone will ask me who my state senator is and I’ll say, “Dr. Mike.” I’ll be one of a handfull of people in Delaware who will know my state senator’s name.

Reminds me of that JibJab video with Barack riding the Unicorn.
David Anderson, who wrote the 4th District post over at DelPol, is just doing a little tub-thumping for the downstate conservative in the race.
Clatworthy is the outsider here. He’s got no personal accomplishments to point to beyond the usual smattering of charity work. His mailers never mention whether he has a job (I understand he works for WSFS, or used to; his campaign calls him a “businessman”), and the photos lean heavily toward him with school students, which I suppose helps make up for the fact that Clatworthy is so young he looks about 16. Let’s face it, without the name recognition from his father’s races against Biden, he’d have no chance here at all.
His platform might look impressive from downstate. But it’s way to the right of the district, which I both live and work in (it’s a badly drawn district, which the Dems did to confine as many R’s as possible into a single Senate district, thereby making others competitive).
In short, it’s an agenda adopted to appeal to, well, the dumber Republicans. That’s not the sort who populate Brandywine Hundred, Greenville/Centerville and Hockessin — they’re mostly Republican because they’re well-off, not because they’re clinging to guns and religion. The anti-immigrant plank would actually work better in Blevins’ district, which abuts the 4th to the south and includes Elsmere.
Al – I’d argue that “clinging to guns & religion” has little to do with one’s economic status. People cling to both because they are important values.
“My Dad lost to Joe Biden a bunch of times. Vote for Me.”
That could work.
Well nepotism works in politics….. but not so much when your dad consistently lost.
I’m just wondering if the unicorn is available to hunt? For that privilege I would gladly use my second amendment rights and buy a nice semi automatic .75 caliber rifle.
It was a joke, Mike. Sorry, I’ll emoticon next time. 🙂
Unicorns are endangered silly, you can’t hunt them!
Unicorns are awesome.
“Charlie, you are the banana king…”
Every Republican needs to see it.
My kids love that silly video, kavips!
