Resurrection
Paraphrasing Chuck Todd just now on Countdown with Keith Olbermann:
According to people close to Biden, pay close attention to Biden smiling when he is saying he is not the guy. If he was told he really wasn’t the guy, he would not be golfing, but inside doing some introspection. The Obama campaign is taking the “texting the announcement” so seriously, and they do not want to be scooped by the media before they inform their supporters via text about the choice, that they may not tell the pick until just before the text message is typed.
Hmmmmmm.
And here is more from the Huffington Post:
A figure familiar with Biden’s thinking says the remark is hardly consequential.
“That is a comment that he typically gives for people who ask about [the vice presidency],” the source said, adding that it has been the senator’s stock answer to the question for weeks now.
In other words, let the speculation continue.
Chuck and Keith also discussed the news that the McCain campaign is telling all their state party organizations to make sure the Vice Presidential nominee can be a person other than a registered Republican. Joe Lieberman?
Manna from heaven.
Joe Lieberman would be a disasterous pick as VP for John McCain. Conservatives are already leery of McCain. Picking a pro-choice Democrat would just hand the whole thing over to Obama.
Precisely.
As I said before, the VP pick has not been told so there is no sign either way.
NOONE KNOWS. So stop listening to sources one way or another
But then we would miss out on the highs and lows of the speculation game.
evangelicals love the jews
Joe Lieberman…is not a democrat he is a full fledged neo con with an I after his name. Giving good independents a bad name. It will be Leiberman or Eric Kantor even more right than Leiberman. Gotta pander to those jewish voters. Needs Joe to whisper in his ear when he screws up.
Not all of us Jews adore Lieberman or Cantor (correct spelling). We don’t vote for someone because they are Jewish, much as our parents might have. Lieberman should be kicked out of the Democratic Senate caucus and stripped of his chairmanship. Lieberman will not help McCain with Jewish voters because he is a politcal kapo.
Umm, I know Lieberman isn’t liberal enough for you guys, but that hardly makes him a conservative. The only issue he has been right on is the war. Republicans don’t want a liberal on the ticket. They want a conservative.
Biden is out of the Senate one way or another. He has been so fluffed by all the attention that I’m sure he will be offered Sec State if he does not make VP.
The Delaware chess board is going to be flipped and that is a stone cold lock.
Liz,
I know you radical independents have a dislike for AIPAC and Israel, but really, stereotyping all Jewish voters by saying they will all vote for Lieberman is contrary to the facts.
The Jewish vote is not homogeneous. Indeed, it has been split in the last 2 elections, and traditionally it favors Democrats more than not.
LOL Sharon. “The only issue he has been right on is the war.”
Laugh of the week.
70% of America disagrees with you.
DD,
I think Sharon may have meant “right of center” rather than “correct”.
Ah. Gotcha.
Doesn’t anyone think that it is a little pathetic when the media gets down to parsing smiling and choice of words? It’s like old school Kremlinology or something.
And other than a registered Republican, huh? McCain/Lieberman would be a gift, but how about McCain/Barr? Talk about your fusions…
I think Barr is still a registered Republican in Georgia, but I highly doubt he will be chosen. 😉
Oh. I thought he had to be registered as a Libertarian to run, but I really don’t know. Just assumed, I guess. But that would be Extreme Fun!
Still holding out for Wes Clark.
Consistent with Benjamin’s past points–what VP pick would be a show-stopping, incredibly positive surprise with a capital S?
