  1. DPN says:

    Please, please, please pick Romney.

  2. cassandra_m says:

The Return of Multiple Choice Mitt.

Bring it (and his little dog too!) on!

  3. mike w. says:

If McCain picks Romney he can kiss his chances goodbye.

  4. Rebecca says:

McCain doesn’t have a chance but this would position Romney to run again in 2012. Sometimes ya gotta punt and hope for better luck next time.

  5. Von Cracker says:

PLEASE let it be Guy “me and my magic undies” Smiley!!!!

  6. delawaredem says:

Republicans are big on the “It’s his turn” approach to party politics. The Establishment choice has always won, prior to this year. This year, the establishment choice was Romney, but he lost.

So I am thinking McCain is getting tons of pressure to put Romney on the ticket from his big money donors.

  7. mike w. says:

“This year, the establishment choice was Romney, but he lost.”

Thank god. Romney is a tool and a complete RINO. I agree with Cassandra’s characterization of him as “multiple-choice Mitt.”

  8. jason330 says:

Mike W will change his tune after Mitt gets picked. Then it will be all, “I love Romney” Mark my words.

What is the saying…? Dems fall in love, and Republicans fall in line.

  9. Truth Teller says:

Just love the way your sons and daughters protect this country by serving in Iraq and Afghan while his five sons serves by campaigning for him

  10. DPN says:

Mike W will change his tune after Mitt gets picked. Then it will be all, “I love Romney” Mark my words.

Mitt: The best business mind of his generation.

  11. FSP says:

Well, with a Democratic ticket with no military experience, no executive private sector experience, no executive public sector experience and no business experience whatsoever, there’s a million ways McCain could go to expose Joebama.

A Romney selection would be greeted with enthusiasm by all but the party’s extremes. Like Mike W and the Huckabee types.

All in all, I still think McCain should choose a woman.

  12. jason330 says:

    In other words…Mitt Romney

  13. DPN says:

    Funny stuff Jason.

  14. Von Cracker says:

Funny how 40% of the GOP is now labeled as extreme.

To us, yes – they live in their own make-believe world, but without the jeebus freaks the GOP would not have made it out of 80s.

  15. Truth Teller says:

Yes Good old MITT LAY THE WORKERS OFF That should play well in Pa and Ohio

  16. jason330 says:

Great observation VC. Let’s be honest, the “extreme” Republicans are the current base thanks to Bush & Rove.

  17. FSP says:

“Yes Good old MITT LAY THE WORKERS OFF That should play well in Pa and Ohio”

Yeah, that’ll play along with the 10s of thousands of jobs he created. There are entire factories in PA and OH that exist as a result of Mitt Romney’s involvement.

By the way, I created more jobs on my first day in business than the Democratic ticket has in their entire lives. So I think the GOP is more than happy to go there.

  18. mike w. says:

“Mike W will change his tune after Mitt gets picked. Then it will be all, “I love Romney” Mark my words.

What is the saying…? Dems fall in love, and Republicans fall in line.”

I’ve always disliked Romney and will continue to if McCain is dumb enough to pick him.

As far as your saying, I think “Dems fall in love” is an accurate observation, given the adoration of Obama and the absolute reliance on “feelings” and “emotions” that I see among Delaware Liberal contributors.

FSP – Don’t lump me in with the religious Conservatives.

  19. meatball says:

I had love and feelings for my would be bride 20 years ago(still do now), and it seems to be working out just fine now. Life isn’t always a sure thing, dude. Sometimes you have to go with your gut, work hard (although my marriage has been easy), and shoot straight, roll with the punches if you will. In the end, reguardless of who is elected president, it will have little effect on my life. I know what’s important.

My three votes are still going to Obama, though.

  20. Bob Cooper says:

I am not as confident about Obama’s chances as some people here. I think Joe was a great choice for Veep, and I think eventually most Clinton supporters will come around to Obama.

But the Democrats need to get tougher against McSame and the GOP. Last night was a love-fest in Denver. You can bet the first night of the GOP convention won’t be, it will be direct attacks on Obama and the Democratic party.

The simple fact is, all the indicators point to an incredible year for the Democratic presidential candidate; but Obama is still in a neck and neck tie with John W. McCain. (I understand that these are national polls, and presidential races are state by state, but the point is the same.)

Just today McSame attacked Obama by virtually questioning his patriotism. I have seen nothing close to that from the Democrats or Obama against McCain. Remember four years ago when everyone was so sure that Preznit W. was on his way out because –you know –he sucked so bad? Well, there is an earily familiar feeling here.

Democrats and progressives NEED to get angry, they need to get mean.

(If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball!)

  21. jason330 says:

    Bob,

I agree that we need to work, but it is not true that Obama and McCain are neck and neck.

You are listening to too much punditry. James Carville, for example, has been filling the airwaves with the kind of observation you just made.

His goal is not to get the truth out, but to help build some kind of fall back position for Hillary Clinton.

You have to be a more critical listener when you hear pundits say that Obama needs to get tougher.

  22. mike w. says:

“His goal is not to get the truth out, but to help build some kind of fall back position for Hillary Clinton.”

Agreed – Carville has always been a Clinton fanboy.

  23. FSP says:

“I agree that we need to work, but it is not true that Obama and McCain are neck and neck.”

That’s true. Here in the bubble, Obama is ahead by 20 points!

Oh, and Jason, sorry to hear about your passing. You’ll be missed.

  24. RAY K> says:

During the primary I heard many christians dish Romney for being a member of a cult.
It`s not enough to join God`s navy, you must also pick the right ship to sail on.
