I thought Republicans were kidding about this “Alaska is close to Russia, so Palin knows about foreign policy” talking point – but it seems that they really think that is a valid observation.

Cindy McCain on This Week actually gave Alaska’s proximity to Russia as a reason Sarah Palin is qualified to be Vice President of the United States. “Remember, Alaska is the closest part of our continent to Russia. So it’s not as if she doesn’t understand what’s at stake here.”
