Well at least Obama is fighting back. McCain has an admittedly difficult task running as a change agent. Old, white, Republican selects Chritianist, “family values” veep to cater to the Wal-Mart, soccer mom set. How cutting edge!

Keep calling them liars until it forces the MSM to take notice.

I like it! Finally, a little offense.

The Brothers Judd blog has a great analysis for this ad. Not that you’ll like it. But it goes like this.

    1. The best campaign ads are simple. Stick to one subject. Here, Obama is so obsessed with Sarah Palin that he’s obligated to try to tie her up in it as well. Except people like Sarah Palin and aren’t gonna give a shit what Obama says about her.

    2. What Dems always missed about “Swiftboating” was that they took one opponent theme–his Vietnam record–and highlighted what was wrong with it. Kerry was well-known (better known, actually) for his opposition to the Vietnam war. All they did was highlight that, so that every time Kerry mentioned war service, everyone knew what he was talking about.

Here, Democrats and the press have spent a decade branding McCain as a “maverick,” because it played well to agitate Republicans, including George Bush. Trying now to claim that he’s not a maverick plays against type and is ineffective. You could claim he’s such a maverick that he’s alienated his own party and conservatives, but McCain’s made that message as well.

    Better luck next time.
