I know you guys are feeling all warm in the pants that 8000 troops are coming home.  We all picture a tinker-tape like return with sailors walking in Times Square kissing abritrary women.

But these troops are the ones that were supposed to come home in January after our 6 months surge was supposed to give the Iraqi government space to govern….8

This, too, will be good for John McCain. See, the surge worked! Troops are coming home. Some are riding unicorns! They bought them with the profits they made selling their jets on e-bay.

Next week, we open the strategic petroleum reserves again, and gas prices get temporarily depressed. More unicorns! Vote McSame for change!

From what I am seeing in the media the homecoming celebrations seem to be taking place at the bases the troops are returning to.

Unfortunately as the drawdown progresses the media attention will pretty much fade!

Wouldn’t be nice to see Delaware lead the way with a memorial for those who served in the War on Terror? We shouldn’t have to wait 50 years to build a memorial. The Vietnam Veterans Memorial in D.C. seems to a place of remembrance and healing.

With all the money the federal government is pissing away bailing bankers and foreign governments out, I think Uncle Sam can give each state 2 million dollars to fund a memorial for those stepping up to serve their country in these conflicts isn’t much to ask for.

Hopefully when Obama and Biden get settled in as President and Vice-President they will move up the timetable! McCain will pussyfoot around and be like Bush proving others in the region.
