What I learned yesterday on 9/11
1. People still didn’t know that President Bush was told “America is under attack” while he was reading
2. War is ok if the guy is bad and has it coming to him
3. It is ok to ignore daily notes you are going to be attacked if you get daily notes telling you, you are going to be attacked
4. It is ok to go after people that sort of act like they are guilty
5. People still don’t know what war crimes are
6. People forget that half of Iraq was under a no fly zone already
7. People still think Saddam had WMD’s
8. People still think that Bush didn’t know there wasn’t WMD’s
9. It’s Clinton fault
10. People have forgotten that our soldiers had no armor for several years.
11. They forget where the real war on terror was/is.
12. People don’t know that the Bush Administration tells them one thing and does another. (see North Korea talks, Libya Talks, Iran Talks)
13. People are pawns and can’t think for themselves. They trust the government.
14. It is ok to suspend your principles of government if your party is in power
You forgot the big one, “people think Iraq was responsible for 9/11.” Some of those people are running for vice president.
People think we won in Afghanistan.

What I learned yesterday:
1. That partisan liberals will distort the attack on us for their own ends then argue ad nauseam that Republicans are the only ones who do that.
2. That having a normal reaction to such an attack is considered a weakness in a Republican but would have been defended to the hilt by Democrats.
3. That my original thought that Democrats don’t deserve my vote was correct.

You want to complain that Republicans politicized 9/11. That’s a fair accusation, if you think lauding our President’s response is politicizing it. But to act as though that activity is reserved for those with R’s after their names is disingenuous.

Why would I honestly bother with such baseless and ridiculous content as was shown in the original post to which we are all commenting? I mean, really. The author was using standardized left-wing talking points, only this time he was supposedly using the answers provided to the series of 9/11 posts as “proof”. Yeah, that would work so well, except all of those 9/11 post questions were atrociously phrased, fallacious analogies, and so patently obvious that a brain-dead gerbil on ecstasy could have figured out where they were leading. And when people can tell where the question is leading, their answers are immediately questionable, and no basis for any determination whatsoever. Leading the witness, anyone?
But, hey, if you all want to go around, patting each other on the asses, and proclaiming your mightiness, go right ahead. But when all of you had been ranting and raving about how viewership of Senator Barack Hussein Obama’s speech mattered (and then suddenly got very quiet when Governor Sarah Palin, the Republican VP candidate, did statistically better and Senator McCain outright did better), how can I not take advantage of all of your rantings and ravings about how only the Electoral College, as documented by that stupid little webpage, is the only metric that matters? You want to be here accusing us — here on a fairly partisan blog — of partisanship. But here you are with your own partisanship which you want to present as not only OK, but The Facts. You already know that this isn’t the path to discussion.
But when we point out the clear facts — that George Bush sat for a few minutes reading a kid’s book after he was told America was under attack — you would continue to accuse us of partisanship when these are the current facts as known. This has been reported in credible places everywhere and was certainly the testimony given to (and reported by) the 9/11 Commission (and to all readers who have not read this — you should. It is completely riveting.). But pointing out the facts is somehow not classy by us.
GWB has been proving to be unfit for POTUS damn near every day of his tenure. You are part of the diehard 30% who think otherwise. Fine. But it is sheer insanity for you to come to a declared liberal blog and expect to find your fellow travelers here.

5. Upon hearing of the 9/11 attacks, GWB should have run out and jumped in his fighter plane to personally engage the enemy in single combat, like Will Smith in Independence Day.
That seems a little dramatic, G Rex. I would have settled for him just putting the book down and leaving the room – immediately.
Except he did jump into his fighter plane to drop his own Weapons of Mass Distraction on us — executing the new Mission Accomplished maneuver on the USS Lincoln in May of 2003.

On the lighter side (or not)….I attended the candidate forum last night and learned that the candidate for Ins Commisioner, Karen Weldin-Stewert, is a survivior of the 9/11 attack….at least in her mind. It seems she was employed by an insurance company whose home was the 11th floor of the WTC and that she herself had taken the day off to celebrate her birthday.
I’ve heard a lot of KWS stories over the last several years/election cycles, and that was a new one. Which brings to mind one question: Truth or Fiction?
If memory serves me, that would be about the same time she was a nighttime security person for a shoe store.
