I might actually start feeling sorry for McCain. This news just makes Obama right again.
Actually, the news doesn’t make Obama right, it just points out that the US was wrong.
Nobody has ever successfully done what we’re trying to do in Afghanistan, not the US, not the USSR, not the British Empire, not the Mughal Empire, not the Mongols….
Hell, not even the Persian Empire or Alexander the Great.
Obama has no more idea about what we need to do in the so-called War on Terror than Sarah Palin or John McCain.
The “war on terror” isn’t something that can be won by killing the terrorists, it’s something that must be won by changing cultures and mindsets.
In that respect your title for this post is fitting. We can kill a terrorist and another will pop up in his place.
