I admit I have no humor left when it comes to Sarah Palin. I simply do not respect a woman who uses her sexuality in an attempt to distract from her lack of qualifications. I resent the way the republican party uses Palin’s gender as a way to deflect any and all criticism of her policies and beliefs. These sexed up tactics from a political party that doesn’t support equal pay for women, isn’t pro-choice, and for years have been slandering teen-age mothers and working moms is beyond the pale. Actually, it’s worse – it’s a big lie. (Don’t believe me? Just wait until Hillary runs again.)
I also resent that the rules of a very serious debate were lowered for a woman, and when that woman didn’t drool on stage people said that she “exceeded expectations”. WTF?
Palin is an embarrassment to women and men who have studied and worked hard for their accomplishments.
Told ya… I don’t find the Palin pick funny. Ultimately, she is McCain’s choice, and it seems he’s being judged accordingly.

I would normally hate Palin for her unabashed and creepy use of religion as a propaganda tool.
I would hate her for her complete lack of sincerity.
I would hate her for her gleeful ignorance of the issues central to governing at a national level.
I can’t really hate her for that though… she was picked, she won the small town hick politician lottery…. she went from being an unqualified Governor of a small state to being on the Republican ticket. Any one of us would have said yes in the same situation.
What do I hate about Palin? She is the pathetic, pandering, shameful product of divisive, made for focus groups, battleground state wooing, zero IQ politics in this country staring back at us.
She reflects the shame we should feel every time we get partisan and pick a side rather than expecting more from the people we elect to spend out tax dollars and send children to war.
She is why I will not vote for either Democrat or Republican. She is the worst of the quasi-intellectual food fight that we call politics in this declining nation.

Dislike-Her personification reflects a crass, ill-mannered, sarcastic broad that I am afraid has come to define America–and I mourn that people “relate” to her. Her lack of social filter condones this rude, forward, atagonistic commentary and behavior, that I regret now permeates the upper echelon of career and employment choices…and has been legitimized.
It has been more than a step back for the US in civility. Her words and tone normalize demeaning and mocking sarcasm–instead of indicting a dame. My daughters should look up to this?

DV-the Washington outsider is more in reference to her lack of gladhanding, and schmoozing the “Big Players” in town, and unfamiliarity w/ the hierarchy. Coming from Alaska, there really isn’t even a recognized bloodline (versus pipeline tee hee), of legacy politicians that have “raised” their legislators to the office, and have given us what we’ve gotten. That may be refreshing. We’ll see.

Yes, but the analogy is flawed. The New Yorker came to NC looking to join a club. Palin’s serendipitous rise thru politics really leaves a roadmap at home. It’s worked for her so far–would she abandon that now? Rural, rugged America west of the Mississippi HATES Washington (in my general, having lived there opinion-before someone here fires back wanting sources and graphs), and the bureaucracy and “suit” it represents. It may well be the club she doesn’t want to join. Her risk is being a membership courtesy of the Boss.
