Bottom of the 6th, Phils just took the lead 3-2 on homers by Utley and Burrell

  3. Von Cracker says:

    Peter Happy can’t hit shit.

  4. jason330 says:

Big 6th inning for the Phils. 9 outs away.

    squishy…it’s a fun word

    sqyyishy….whheeeeee

  10. Donsquishy says:

can’t the phillies play small ball? what was up with that bunt…

  11. Donsquishy says:

what’s the statistics on the team that has homefield advantage and wins the first game?

  12. Dominique says:

Do any of you know their w-l record with west coast games? I’ve tried to find it, but I can’t. That’s the only thing that’s got me worried. They looked really great tonight.

  13. JohnnyX says:

Shazam, one down and 3 to go…

  14. Donsquishy says:

that you will look for…facts about Obama….nahhhh

  15. Von Cracker says:

    Great game!

Phils finished under .500 on their west coast swing.

  16. liberalgeek says:

Yeah, but Dom doesn’t believe their record… Do you know who they have been associating with on those west coast swings? I saw that crowd at the Phillies game, too. They were blood thirsty. And the Phillies just whipped them into more of a frenzy.

    ๐Ÿ™‚

  17. Dominique says:

Seriously! I don’t remember them doing well on west-coast road trips. Am I wrong? Can you guys take off your silly Obama hats for five seconds?? This is important!

  18. Von Cracker says:

    wonder if Palin knows German?

  19. Dominique says:

Oops – just saw VC’s post. Thanks. That’s not terribly encouraging, tho. Any idea how far under .500? Where did you find the info. I wasted about a half hour earlier this week trying to find it because of that stupid post that asked what we were most worried about (playoff-wise).

  20. Von Cracker says:

they were swept in LA, four games to nil.

did ok in SF and AZ.

Historically, the Phils have been mediocre at best in LA – but had the greatest comeback in team history, if not MLB history at Dodgers Stadium in 1990.

  21. Donsquishy says:

    Am I wrong?

    that’s rhetorical right?

  22. Another Mike says:

Came back to sweep the Dodgers late in August at the Bank, Cracker. They played Arizona very early in the season out there, long before the D’Backs got hot. I don’t remember how they did in San Fran, but they played the Padres on the same trip as the Dodgers, and without looking it up, I think they went 2-8 or 2-9 on that trip.

Does anyone know why So Taguchi is even on the roster? He had one job tonight — get a bunt down — and he popped up on the first pitch. Apparently Wheeler was covering for him on the radio, but Buck and McCarver were more truthful on TV.

Kudos to Madson for retiring the meat of the order in the 8th. They even left him in against James Loney, a lefty hitter, with Romero warmed up in the pen.

    Beat LA!

  23. Von Cracker says:

    Madson’s lights out right now.

Yeah – Taguchi’s been horrible this season; they should have given the spot to Golson. Pure speed when you need it.

  24. delawaredem says:

You play Dobbs in that situation.
