It’s what the White House knows how to do and I will say one thing. It is the best thing that Bush and his people do. I admire their ability to get people in line. I admire their ability to get people to stay on message. I especially like how they trained “retired” military people to go on the news and LIE to the CITIZENS of the United States of America. LIE to them that the war was going fine.
Well, hopefully something comes out of this.
A investigation published by The New York Times in May, “Message Machine,” found that the Pentagon “used those analysts in a campaign to generate favorable news coverage of the administration’s wartime performance.” Nineteen seemingly objective TV and radio analysts were given classified information and private briefings by senior White House, Justice and Defense Department officials, including Vice President Dick Cheney. And many of those analysts also had ties to military contractors, the Times reported.
Same old story. Bring the guys in close, treat them like they are seeing something really classified, then they go out and spew bullshit and lies. Saying that they can’t say what they know, but what they know is XYZ and we are doing better. Trained monkey’s. Pay them enough money and they will say anything.
