Jack Markell, Matt Denn and U.S. Sen. Tom Carper to Unveil Initiative
Matt Denn referenced this in his DelawareLiberal interview. it sounds like a great idea to me.
(Aside: It is nice to see Tom Carper campaigning with Democrats for a change.)

Shop-Rite Supermarket? Is there only one in Delaware? 😉
1600 W. Newport Pike.
Is it me?
Okay, now you’re fucking with me.
Yes.
Thanks for the catch.
Another mentoring program. Woohoo.
I know they do kids some good, and I applaud the mentors who share their time, but I can’t help but think that an hour-a-week mentor is no substitute for caring parents, fully-funded schools and good jobs in the future.
If children of any age go home after meeting the mentor to watch TV in a dirty apartment eating junk food while their parents are away working two low-paying jobs and wake up the next morning to go to a crumbling school with ill-trained teachers — how exactly is a mentor supposed to turn that around?
