Sarah Palin Preps for 2012 By Throwing McCain Under The Bus
Andrew Sullivan covers a London Times piece which lays out the brewing McCain vs. Palin bitchfest:
Palin remains far more popular than McCain with the Republican party base. He regularly has to endure the spectacle of members of the audience leaving for their cars when it is his turn to speak at joint rallies.
and…
Palin’s frustration with McCain has led to clashes over strategy. When she learnt he was pulling resources from Michigan, an industrial swing state leaning heavily in Obama’s favour, she fired off an e-mail saying, “Oh come on, do we have to
Sullivan adds the obvious…
Indpendents and female voters are fleeing but the base loves Palin, as she pivots toward 2012 barely six weeks after having been picked for 2008.
None of this will surprise anybody who has heard about the way Palin operated in Alaska, regularly turning on and denouncing one time advisors and mentors after their usefulness is exhausted.
Sassy Sarah has really been feelin’ her oats. Watch the Brian Williams interview. Sarah is the media hog. She has openly criticized McCain over the decision not to mention Rev. Wright and his use of robo-calls. She’s even ditching her press handler and holding impromptu press conferences. And she’s just changed her position on whether or not she’s a feminist.
Oh yeah, Sarah has big plans. I plan on using Palin’s reception by the Republican Party (after the election) as a barometer of things to come. If they embrace her I will surmise that they’ve decided that McCain – and only McCain – was the problem. If they denounce her there may be hope for the GOP.
I’d put $100 on embrace. There is no bottom to the cluelessness of modern Republicans.
I hope they do. When Obama wins, they daily show is gonna need material. I want Sarah Palin to stick around (not in any position of power) for a long long time. Caribou Barbie 2012!!!!
I hear that there is a Rudy!2012 website now.
I think that the wingnuttiest part of the repubs embrace Palin as their savior, but that is going to be one act of the effort to claim the party’s soul. Frankly, I don’t think that the more moderate or traditionally conservative members of the party will go down without a real fight.
Sarah Palin is definitely a user. She’s used the state of Alaska, John McCain and the RNC to enrich herself, and now she’s going to sit at the top of the heap. The problem for her is that the heap is getting pretty small. Sometimes I wonder, do right wing Republicans realize they’re the minority?
The evangelical combined with white supremacists and the anti abortion crowd created and developed by Karl Rove and his computer hackers, have created a monster. Even though they are not in the majority of republican thought, Rove has permitted this minority within the party to appear larger and given them a platform to pronouce their hatred for america. These “dominionists” want America to be a “christian” only nation, christianity become the state religion, anyone not a christian or an evangelical is considered anti-american and to be “dealt with” (Army of God). Palin is their poster child. If the republican party doesnt get rid of these looney’s their party will continue to go down the tubes.
I count Christine ODonald and Mike Protack in this looney fringe here in Delaware.
Karl Rove as Dr. Frankenstein. Ouch, that ended badly for the good doctor.
