The 35th RD Delaware’s Idaho

Filed in National by on November 1, 2008

John Tobin digs deep into the numbers and concludes that “Aaron Chaffinch has an uphill climb” vs. Republican Dave Wilson.

Even a blue tsunami would leave the 35th hiogh and dry according to Tobin’s anaylisis. Don’t believe me? Check it.

Last time out, Christine O’Donnell got 8% of her write in votes in the 35th.

Chaffinch’s resignation from the state po’ is still pretty fresh in people’s minds, I think. That plus Ewing’s endorsement of Wilson, who is already a pretty well-known, well-respected local pol, will boost him over the top, I think.

You’re livin in your own Private Idaho. Idaho.
You’re out of control, the rivers that roll,
you fell into the water and down to Idaho.
    Get out of that state,
get out of that state you’re in.
    You better beware!

Ewing is well known and does get amny Dem votes, but since he’s not running this year, things may be different. It all depends on voter turnout Tuesday and how the local Dem chair gets the vote out (also a Ewing, but not that Ewing). The primary vote was skewed for the republicans because of the hot race for the 2nd District county council race (won by bigot Sam Wilson). But down here in LSD, you never know who’s helping who behind the scenes, so don’t count Chaffinch out.
