Oh Wowza!
I just spent 3.5 hours standing at Shipley Manor polling place arguing with 2 Clatworthy supporters. Apparently they were from Newark Delaware and they go to Church with John at the Church across the parking lot from the Central Branch YMCA.
We agreed on 2 things. Castle is horrible and there should be a flat tax. After that we didn’t agree on anything else.
In short I really, really, really hope that Clatworthy doesn’t get elected. If his “supporters” are anything like him then they are staunch right wing Christian conservatives that thing Mike Castle is a wimp and isn’t far enough to the right. They said Castle is a “liberal” and there are tons of “liberal” Republicans in the Senate and Congress.
The Clatworthy people also believe that Obama is a Marxist b/c he read a book or two about it and wants to redistribute the wealth. He is the most liberal Senator in Congress and has no experience.
Palin is a Governor…A GOVERNOR….
The death tax is wrong and is socialist.
The middle class has risen. Wealth HAS been distributed evenly with Bush in office.
Giving mineral rights to the citizens of Alaska is not socialist because it is in their constitution and Palin is just upholding the constitution. Obama is a socialist however b/c he wants to take the money from the rich and give it to the poor.
Nationalized Health Care is bad because it doesn’t work in Europe. When I asked them why we would take the things that don’t work and install them in our plan they were sort of stumped. They just know it doesn’t work because they lived ther for 6 months and saw it with their own eyes.
Socialism provides no incentive for workers. They become lazy and are not motivated at all to work or innovate.
I asked them to define what marxism and communism was and how Obama is a communist and they started talking about taxes and also how communists take religion out of society and then essentially they say that the government is then the religion of the people. That is what Obama wants to do. I said Obama is a Christian though. They then asked me if I know anything about the Black Liberation Movement. I said I did and asked them if they know about Sarah Palins husband had been in a party that wanted to succeed from the US. “That’s Not True” was their reply.
They said the money they make is theirs and they should be able to do what they want with it. They should be able to decide who they want to help and who doesnt’ get help.
They are for school vouchers and shouldn’t pay school taxes. They don’t care if a school shuts down and a student would have to be bussed 1 hour away. If that school wasn’t a good school then so be it.
Obama voted in favor of killing a born baby and not giving the baby “person rights”. Obama voted for putting the half dead baby in the janitor’s closet until it died.
I almost forgot: The WMD’s are in Syria probably.
Did I mention they go to Clatworthy’s church?
