Is Christmas Over Yet?

Filed in National by on November 12, 2008

After an election season that has last 2 years, I find that I now long for Christmas to be over with too, all because of the DL Holiday format.   Thanks guys for following up the longest election campaign ever with the longest Christmas season ever!     (For those unaware, we jumped the gun on Christmas this year in order to beat out the “evil” Dave Burris of Delaware Talk Radio and Delaware Politics.  Apparently, Mr. Burris has in years past bragged that he got his site decorations before us).

What is bugging you today?  Do you find yourself in a post election depression?   You are not alone.

Phils & Obama win it all….

Yes, it’s the Tuesday crash after a weekend of Amsterdam-style partying.

….Let down and hanging around; crushed like a bug on the ground….la de da….

I love the Steven Colbert theory of the Alternate Universe we are all now living in. On his show, he said that what happened is that in early September (when McCain was leading in the polls and the Mets were leading the NL East), the huge super collider thingy was activated in Europe.

At the time, there were fears that the activation of the super collider would create a black hole and thus destroy not only Earth but the known universe. Colbert theorizes that instead, the collider created a parallel alternate universe where Barack Obama has won the Presidency and the Phillies have won the World Series.

    Saw that!

My favorite is the time traveler returning to 2003 telling everyone that Bu$h is going to eff everything up so bad that in 2008 America will elect a liberal black man named Barack Hussein Obama and banks will be nationalized….

Top that with the Phils, hell….it’s a New World Order…..

with regard to the extra-long Christmas season, screw you very much… 🙂

I’m not at all depressed. I found that the damn election and keeping up with the blog was basically ruining my diet. I’m back on the diet wagon and trying to ride the bike a little bit more.

Who’s up for a Drinking Liberally sometime soon?

  5. What I hate about christmas? is that the god damn sales are so good and I have to spend a 1000.00 on gifts for everyone else but me.

Then at the end of the season, I’m totally broke, can’t take advantage of the great sales and lamenting on why I didn’t by myself that compound mitre saw at Lowe’s

I am so ready for a Drinking Liberally! Can we do it soon?

And as much as I miss the election buzz, I’m ready to return to my family… and the Holiday Spirit! Ho, ho, ho!

For the record, there was no bragging. And I didn’t do it until 11/19.

..the christmas decorations wouldn’t be so bad if they were at least PRETTY!!!!!! (G)

I guess they should have filled their lives with celebrity gossip, football, and reality TV like a lot of people. You know meaningful things.

I think it is funny that people who dedicate themselves to something meaningful are pathetic.

    Christmas makes me vomit, blearch!

David – I assume that you know that the video was from “The Onion,” a satirical newspaper. Even I laughed at it and I have been an insufferable burden on my friends and family for months.
