How They Do It in Illinois.

Filed in Delaware by on November 13, 2008

The New York Times has a good story on how Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich (D) is pursuing the task of filling President-elect Obama’s soon-to-be-vacant U.S. Senate seat.    It would seem that Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich is turning to a close group of advisors for …well, advice, after he was inundated with nearly dozens of politicians offering up their services as President-elect Obama’s replacement.

Even still, Governor Blagojevich expects to make a decision by Christmas.

Hey Ruth Ann!    You do realize you are still Governor of the State of Delaware.  You do realize you get to appoint Vice President-elect Biden’s replacement, right?   Can we get some information on your timetable?  Who are you considering, Madam Governor?   Who are you turning to for advice?

Here’s the thing, if she appoints Carney and he stays, we end up with a guy that will have seniority over the rest of this freshman class. Possibly including the Illinois Senator to be named.
