  1. Truth Teller says:

Hillary would be a better AG let her go after the crooks that are leaving

  2. anon says:

Given the international mess left by Bush – there is a 90% chance Hillary will be destroyed forever a la Colin Powell, and a 10% chance she will be carried down the Mall on a sedan chair and installed as the next President.

  3. jason330 says:

To avoid the Colin Powell treatment all she has to do is not lie about Iraq having WMD’s.

  4. edisonkitty says:

    Who gets her Senate seat?

  5. pandora says:

I’m not sure I’m buying this story. Who are these top Dem sources?

  6. Unstable Isotope says:

I don’t understand why she can’t say no. She could say that she has important work to do in the Senate (like healthcare). It could be a way for her to save face, in fact.

  7. a. price says:

I thought Bill Ayers was going to be Secretary of State… I mean, thats why I voted for Obama.

  8. Dana says:

Why would Hillary Clinton be an [insert slang term for sphincter here] if she declined the offer?

It’s a prestigious, and gracious offer, but that does not mean she’s obligated to accept it. I have no problem with her accepting the offer, but it doesn’t seem to me that the position plays to her strengths.

Why? She’s never been a prosecutor, and even her legal experience is rather limited. Her executive experience is limited as well, and what little she does have is experience in failure.

If Mrs Clinton wishes to remain in the Senate until the day she dies, New Yorkers will probably keep re-electing her. As a cabinet officer in the Obama Administration, she’s done in eight years, at the maximum, and very few cabinet officers last that long.

  10. anon says:

Is this change we bought? Ex Clinton staffers, ole Clinton aides, and Clinton more to the right of center than Obama! McCain on Obamas staff…what is going on here? I see no change whatsoever. I thought we were going to have “new, more moderate to progressive thinkers”, not people who voted for Iraq. Afganistan and the global war on terror is being escalated by the Obama team with advisors like Brezinski. Where is the diplomacy? Where is the end of the war in Iraq? Is Obama going back on some of his promises? Sorry I am not seeing change here…I see same ole same ole.

Obama should be reassessing the Afganistan situation, and ending pre emptive strikes not promoting them. I supported Obama because I thought he would end these militaristic, colonialism ideas of the Bush regime. His advisors are NOT new thinkers but the same Tri Lateral Commission “thinkers” that got us into the mess we have today.

She appears to be the only one in the Dem party who has shown any balls. Nancy and harry had their chance to get Bush and his band of crooks but instead ended up aiding and abetting him. Just look at all the shit he was able to do to this country after they ( Nancy & Harry) took over.

  12. jason330 says:

The only good thing about Pelosi and Reid being so lame is that (now that we have a decent President) they will be easily used.

    Jason

I sure hope you are right. But look at what Mitchell anfd Foley did to Clinton in th first 2 years their actions gave us Newt and company

  14. Mike Protack says:

The dumbest thing Obama could do is offer Clinton anything.

read about Truman and his first Secretary of State, he fired him.

  15. Barack wants Hill’ry for State,
A choice he came to of late.
    But if it is done,
    He won’t have much fun,
It’s a choice that he’ll come to hate.

  16. Dana says:

Mr Protack: Almost every Secretary of State gets to “resign” before the president’s term is up. President Bush will be a rare example of having only two during a full eight years in office.
