The 6th District Democratic Committee has selected attorney Michael Migliore to run for Rep. Diana McWilliams’s 6th District seat. McWilliams is resigning to take a job in New Mexico. The special election will be held on December 20th.
“It means a lot that this growing group of Democrats has selected me to represent them,” Migliore said in a news release. “I know I have big shoes to fill, but it’s time to get to work. The door-knocking begins today.”
A win by the Democrats in this special election will allow them to hold onto a three-fifths majority in the House, which allows them to pass tax legislation and override a veto without minority party consent.
We hold that super majority now, and we need to win this election in order to maintain it.
Mr. Migliore is a bankruptcy attorney with Stradley Ronon. He is also an attorney for the Delaware House of Represenatives, where he has a hand in drafting legislation while providing legal counsel to legislators.
See, being a part of District Committees does have its perks, as you have a hand to select and recruit candidates every once and while. Of course, it would help to know whether Mr. Migliore is a progressive. Does anyone have any other information about him?
