Ron Williams Comes Out of The Closet

Not that he was very far in the closet when it came to Tom Gordon, but this is sickening…

Gordon bashers on the prowl

The roving bands of Tom Gordon bashers have once again resurfaced, as uninformed and bigoted as ever.

The occasion that spurred the ignoramuses was the announcement by Insurance Commissioner-elect Karen Weldin Stewart that Gordon is on three of her transition team committees, including one that will review and make recommendations about the department’s fraud unit.

Are you thinking…”get a room” at this point?

I’ll admit that the irony jumps out at you.

The former New Castle County executive and county police chief was once indicted on racketeering charges, that by their own nature include fraud.

But as most of the Gordon bashers either refuse to acknowledge, those charges were dropped by the U.S. attorney.

Sherry Freebery pleaded guilty to an unrelated charge of lying to a bank on a mortgage application, which is a felony.

So let’s recap what Williams knows so far…Gordon was once indicted on racketeering charges so he knows fraud when he see it….?

The intellectually constipated bloggers were beside themselves because Gordon was “getting a high paying job in the fraud unit of the Insurance Department,” even though the transition team — as is the case with virtually every transition team — is an honorary, bipartisan, unpaid position.

Wha…? I guess making up quotes and not attributing them to anyone is a new Gannett cost cutting measure.

As a long-time police chief, who was honored nationally for his service, Gordon’s certainly qualified to review the operation of an internal fraud unit of an independent state agency.

Slurp..slurp…slurp…

As Weldin Stewart’s chief aide, Elliott Jacobson, said of Gordon, “He made a mistake in the past, it was a misdemeanor. There comes a point when you just have to let go.”

But try telling that American judicial logic to nitwits.

Uhm…yeah…because A) Jacobson is an impartial observaer in all this, so him getting the last word makes sense and B) the rules of the man crush are that anyone who points out that Tom Gordon should not be allowed within 100 feet of the public’s money must be a nit wit.
