I have a question for all Republicans out there. Was it worth it to have the RNC pay $165,000 for stylists for Sarah Palin for 9 weeks?
Ooooo….I just read that William Jefferson lost his election last night in LA. Jefferson, if you remember, is the Congressman who had $90,000 (from a bribe) in his freezer. Still, it was a bit of a surprise. Good riddance!
Seriously, I am very happy that Jefferson lost. Corrupt is corrupt, no matter if you are a Democrat or a Republican.
An Eagles upset today would be bad for the team. It would give Andy the impression that he has been right all along.
I wonder if anyone will ask Condoleezza Rice if she was ever shocked by how much Bush sucked?
UI–To answer your question–I’m sure for some it was their version of the “Make A Wish” Foundation.
Carl Levin just made a great point on FNS about the fact that the financial sector should have the same amount of scrutiny (required plans, congressional hearings, etc.) as the Big 3 have had to face. They should.
Good riddance to Jefferson, and booo to Carmouche losing in such a close race. I feel like the blogosphere wasted too much effort on Martin and not enough on Carmouche, although you can’t place the blame on the blogosphere for a special election. We heard all about the Democratic stars coming to Georgia, but nothing about Louisiana. Were they afraid that their support of Carmouche would somehow tie them to Jefferson?
And the Giants will friggin’ wreck the Eagles, period.
Absolutely, FSP.
We should drag the CEOs of the financial companies in front of Congress and make them present a plan. They should also drive, sell their private jets and get paid $1 in salary.
‘I have a question for all Republicans out there. Was it worth it to have the RNC pay $165,000 for stylists for Sarah Palin for 9 weeks?’
Let it go, dear. Your guy won. To answer your question, it was well worth it to have a candidate look as good as she did. Besides, they were private funds. I’m pretty confident you didn’t donate any money to the RNC, so why does it bother you so much? Just how bloodied does the horse have to be before you’re satisfied? Continuing to insult your former opponent after you’ve won is kind of bad form. Just sayin’.
Why don’t you worry yourself with more important matters like how Britney’s doing or whether Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer will work it out.
Such a patronizing and shallow response from Dominique, as usual.
To be clear, the McCain campaign was funded by taxpayer money, and there is still some questions as to whether McCain or the RNC paid for Palin “to look as good as she did.”
Further, I believe Palin is your preferred candidate for 2012, no doubt because she is a white woman. Thus, her actions in the 2008 campaign and beyond are very much relevant for further discussion.
“Further, I believe Palin is your preferred candidate for 2012, no doubt because she is a white woman. ”
You can’t seriously believe that tripe, can you? Jesus, the “Dominique hates black people” meme is sooo six months ago. And it was as untrue then as it is now.
Ok, let that go for a second. I fully expect you, Mike Matthews, the alleged guardian of uncensored free speech and debate in the Delaware blogosphere, to condemn Dominique for attempting to silence discussion of this issue. Further, her patronizing direction to pay more attention to latest tabloid issue of the day to UI, a chemist with twice the intelligence of anyone on this blog, was uncalled for.
Well. The Giants did not wreck the Eagles, which may have seriously screwed my fantasy football playoff chances, because I sat Westbrook (AGAIN) and started the Giants Defense. But really, I blame Gus Frerotte – it takes amazing lack of talent to throw two INTs and then get injured against the hapless Lions, who still managed to lose. Frerotte is dead to me.
“to condemn Dominique for attempting to silence discussion of this issue. ”
Refresh my memory: When did Dominique attempt to silence discussion? I would hardly call her comment #9 an attempt to silence discussion. You, in turn, inferred that she’s racist.
