    Laura Bush killed a guy?

  2. You didn’t know that, J? I remember that came out when Bush ran for prez the first time.

  3. jason330 says:

I honestly had no idea that Laura Bush killed a guy.

    Drunk driving?

  4. Nope…she ran a stop sign, I think. I know there was a rumor that went around that she was high on coke, but that was not correct.

  5. anonone says:

    …just to see him die.

  6. George says:

Yeah, she had just turned 17. It was a car accident.

I hate to ruin a good Bush bashing, but this is a little out of line, and more importantly, not funny.

Perhaps Seth MacFarlane had the manatees doing the writing that week.

  7. jason330 says:

How is it that I had no idea that Laura Bush killed a guy when she was 17?

I guess our side has no honest to goodness Karl Rove.

How is it that I had no idea that Laura Bush killed a guy when she was 17?

I think it’s good for a woman to be a little mysterious, don’t you?

  9. Unstable Isotope says:

I think it sounds pretty tragic and is not important, but I’m not a ruthless SOB like Karl Rove.

  10. Truth Teller says:

As the story goes she ran a stop sign accident???? Also there was also part of the story I am not sure it’s true or not but the kid was said to be a boyfriend who broke up with her.

  11. Rebecca says:

It really isn’t funny and I’m sure she has suffered a lot of guilt over it. But, ya’ll got to the root of the matter. If she had been married to a Democrat Drudge, Hannity, Rove and Limbaugh would have been all over this. As it was, we didn’t talk about it. We play by a different set of rules.

  12. Dorian Gray says:

I agree with George’s comment. I love “Family Guy” but I didn’t think the joke was funny. She was sober and had an accident at 17. The boy who died was a high school classmate she knew.

Everyone has accidents. I don’t mind crass, hurtful humor, but this had no point and wasn’t funny.

  13. Truth Teller says:

Rebecca you are so right the unholy three still talk about Ted and the bridge

  14. good point TT….

damn, I totally forgot she killed a guy

  15. jason330 says:

but this had no point and wasn’t funny.

Funny is subjective. I think the point was that, being a Republican, Bush’s history is treated differently than it would be if she was the wife of a Democratic President.

That point is glaringly obvious considering the fact that I had no idea until Nemski posted this that Laura Bush killed a guy.

  16. Von Cracker says:

    …..just for snoring!

I begged me mum to buy those Time/Life books for me as a kid.

    She didn’t. 😥

  17. Von Cracker says:

What’s funnier is the part right after the clip ends, where a girl shows up as Lizzy Hassleback dressed up as an aborted fetus….

    Hilarity ensued.

  18. Dorian Gray says:

Making the proposition that funny is subjective doesn’t make everything potentially funny.

I knew she was in an accident and someone was killed. Perhaps you didn’t know because it is an obscure fact that occurred 40 years ago.

So the joke was to point out that this fact was somehow hidden or that “the left” was nice enough not to bring it up when “the right” would have if the roles where reversed. Terrible argument. Every little thing isn’t a political conspiracy.

  19. Dorian Gray says:

BTW – VC was right. This was a great episode. Brian reads The God Delusion, and “Boom Goes The Dynamite!”

  20. nemski says:

Point of clarification . . . . I didn’t post this because of the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy, I posted it because I thought it was funny. Just like Steve Irwin jokes only days after his death.

“Boom Goes The Dynamite” was a howl. I wonder if mrs. nemski will appreciate it. 😉

  21. jason330 says:

So there you have it DG, there is truth in jest, or in vino veritas or something.

  22. liz says:

Truth Teller: you are right it was all in Kitty Kellys book, which the Bush crime family tried to stop. Story went that it was a boyfriend of hers, she was driving a car, they had had a fight, and her car rammed his. She claimed it was an accident, others wondered if that was true.
    Hello George!

  23. John Tobin says:

She only did this once and I am thinking it was an accident.
I thought Bill Clinton called America “the land of second chances”.
I am willing to give her a second chance.

  24. Joanne Christian says:

Kitty Kelly–Now there’s a source. Just ask the Kennedys.

  25. nemski says:

She only did this once and I am thinking it was an accident.

LOL . . . she only did this once

  26. nemski says:

Kitty Kelly–Now there’s a source. Just ask the Kennedys.

Since most Republicans use Matt Drudge as a source, this is rich.
