From the News Journal:
Nearly everyone in the legal community points to former Delaware Attorney General Charles M. Oberly III as the front-runner [to replace U.S. Attorney Colm Connoly, who is resigning effective January 12th].
…
“He’s been wanting the job; I assume he will get it,” [Attorney Joe] Hurley said.
…
Another name that has been floated as a candidate is Oberly’s one-time deputy and law partner, Kathleen Jennings.
Oberly was Delaware’s Attorney General from 1983 until 1995. Delaware’s senior Senator makes recommendations for this position to the President, who makes the appointment. Right now, Delaware’s senior Senator is Vice President-elect Joe Biden, and in mid-January, after Biden resigns, it will be the wonderful Tom Carper. I think since Oberly wants the job, he will get it.
