GOP Death Spiral
In light of our local moronic windbag’s migration to twitter, this made me laugh:
The key to electoral success for the GOP is not an elite strike force of blithering idiots spamming everyone’s email with bullshit about Obama’s birth certificate. The nation doesn’t need a trillion twitters about William Ayers, they need a Republican party that isn’t batshit insane.
I like the commenter on John Cole’s blog who compares the GOP to a teenage garage band that spends a lot of time talking about how they are going to run away from screaming fans, but no time learning how to play their instruments.
It all goes back to what Rebecca said: Conservatism is a failed ideology. They need to go back to square one.
This is so sad. They just don’t get it.
Jason: you could post the only decent republican left in power….Ron Paul…and see what he has to say about Gaza! If only republicans had the cahones of this guy.
The renewal of the GOP will come with the soon to be poor record of Pres Obama and the many problems facing the country.
Yes, the GOP is hurting at every level but that does not mean the Dems are doing anything worthwhile.
I can’t wait for the answer for the national and state budgets . Massive cuts and large tax increases are on the horizon.
Mike,
Get off the crystal ball routine. Saying it doesn’t make it so. Republicans have got to get over this if they are ever going to recover. If wishes were horses we’d all have a ride. But they aren’t.
Mike P.,
The Dems have to figure out how to solve the problems created by your repub criminal enterprise. Your “solutions” are just more of the same failed policies.
I love how Mike P. is relying on Obama’s demise to save the Republican Party. New ideas? Solutions? Forgetaboutit.
Darn it. I posted the questions in the wrong thread. Here is what I posted and I will still consider this only the FOURTH time they were asked (and probably the fourth time they get ignored).
…Death Spiral
Is that like the toilet bowl swirlies you used to get in high school (and still get at home)?
Smitty,
You’ll never get an answer from Mike P. unless it’s to insult your intelligence. I’m awed at your ability to see Mike P. as having any good ideas. The only ones I’ve heard from him are Republican orthodoxy.
Well…I was being quick to the point. He has workable ideas and I can get into that, but it would be a long comment. They are indeed better than much of the litmus-tested, hard-to-the-core-platform bullet points of the fundamentalist-righty-GOP. However, he still comes very much across as quite the isolationist and not the inclusionist, which is far more identifiable with that litmus-tested, hard-to-the-core-platform fundamentalist-righty-GOP than I think he can allow himself to admit.
