Read the Whole thing.

While this Panetta appointment is a glaring example of the rootsgap, I am comforted by the fact that the most craven of craven politicos like Tom Carper will soon be trying to “out liberal” their Senate colleagues.

Great article. The disconnect between politicians and the public is a huge problem. It’s as if, once elected, pols become part of a club whose sole mission is to sneer at the people they were elected to serve.

That article was pretty profound. It’s captures what I’ve been feeling but haven’t been able to say so well – that we have a minority government. Why else would we continue the Iraq War despite Democratic majorities and the wishes of most of the American people and it’s also why Congress had such a low rating. Congress wasn’t doing what the people wanted it to do, which is put a brake on Bush and end the Iraq War.
