He is 90 freaking years old. Amazing.

Pete Seeger was having a blast here, wasn’t he?

I love that the song was written as a response to Irving Berlin’s cloying and shallow, “God Bless America.”

I feel like I got my country back. On Election Day, I flew my flag for the first time since just after 9/11. I’m trying not to worry about the soaringly high expectations and just enjoy the moment.

Goodbye Bush by Meteor Blades at kos

Good-bye to your rip-offs, your malice, your arrogance, your ignorance, your outlawry, your denial, your deceit, your cronyism and your stubborn refusal to cease pushing the envelope in the department of shameless villainy. Goodbye to the administration you constructed of turdiness and explained with truthiness. To your smirk and your snarl. To your conscienceless cruelty. Good-bye to your corruption, your vanity, your world without grays. Good-bye, good-bye, good-bye, you insufferable despots, and good riddance.

    Goodbye BDS.

Hello BDRS (Bush Derangement Recovery Syndrome).

I have always loved that song, Woody Guthrie, and Pete Seeger. It is so good to hear it in this context. It brought tears to my eyes.

On a side note, Pete Seeger’s grandson (who is he?) has a strong voice. I wonder of he is performing/recording.

By the time I got to view this, HBO had had it taken down. Happy to say, a few minutes ago I found it on Daily Kos, posted from a foreign source.

Incredibly moving. If you haven’t seen and heard, go watch.
