Day 2 Of Castle’s Betrayal of Delaware

Filed in National by on January 30, 2009

Castle is in full spin control mode. I guess he is hearing from the majority of Delawareans that support the President.

Keep up the pressure. Call Mike Castle’s office TODAY and tell him to break with the stale, corrupt, partisanship of the GOP and vote with the people of Delaware and President Obama for economic recovery.

UPDATE: Castle’s sudden interest in fiscal prudence made me think of all of these that he cut for George Bush

  1. I’d like to know where he got that bullshit number that says this stimulus package is going to cost $236k per job?

Krugman busted that up last week and he used it 2 days ago…f’ing liar

  2. anon says:

I am so tired of Castle getting by with a smile and a wave and his “howevers” and
    “the issue is complicated.”

Castle is clearly very rusty at explaining himself. When it comes right down to it, Mr. Independent Castle has got nothing to say except what the talking-point machine feeds to him.

Castle is out of touch with Delaware. When the bill passes the Senate, ask Castle why he voted against every other member of the Delaware delegation (that is, assuming Carper doesn’t bend over for Republicans again).

  3. nemski says:

BTW, even if Castle changes his vote when the bill goes back to the house, it doesn’t matter. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.

  4. Am calling now to find out where he got 236k number.

Erin, said is not sure where he got the number from, but that she heard it from different places…

I asked them to call me back with where that figure came from.

    should be interesting….

  5. anonone says:

    Who are you kiddin’?

Kastle has been in office since 1993. This at least day 5,475 of Castle’s Betrayal of Delaware.

  6. nemski says:

a1, you’re right but at the same time the was an egregious slap in the face to all of Delaware who has continued to send Castle to DC.

This is the vote that will bring Castle down.

  7. anonone says:

    nemski,

I think that Jason is taking this one personally, which is good if it keeps him fired up.

For me? Well, spiders crawl, scorpions sting, and repubs vote together. No surprise there.

Unfortunately, I don’t think there is anything Castle can do short of a major scandal that will bring him down.

  8. Unstable Isotope says:

    A1,

I think 2010 is the year Castle either retires or is defeated at the polls. I don’t think many were very fired up about getting rid of Castle in 2008. I am certainly ready to get rid of him in 2010!

    DV,

I don’t know where Republicans got the number, but it’s one they been using. I think they got it by dividing the number of jobs created by the cost of those parts of the stimulus. As Krugman points out, that’s BS because that is only a 1-yr. cost, the jobs last after one year. If you divide by 3 yrs., which is how long the whole package takes to roll out you get a better number, somewhere around 50K/job.

  9. nemski says:

    I’m still pissed at Castle.

  10. Castle, Rakestraw, Stabler and every other out of touch republican idiot needs to go or the sorry GOP will lose again and again.

Maybe the GOP can dredge up Bill Lee one more time? Or maybe Copeland can come back from a 20% ass kicking in 2008? He gives a safe senate seat so Clatowrthy can lose it?

Don’t worry Tom Ross is on the job, SNAFU,FUBAR etc.

  11. Arthur Downs says:

I suppose that pork is the answer to all that ails us.

Castle deserves praise for voting against the megapork handout.

It appears as Obama the Omniscient is showing his real roots by going beyond the follies of the New Deal. The only question is whether his is going back to the socialism of his late alcoholic father or the excesses of Reconstruction with payouts to ACORN and other pond scum.

  12. RSmitty says:

The only question is whether his is going back to the socialism of his late alcoholic father or the excesses of Reconstruction with payouts to ACORN and other pond scum.

On the ACORN comment…when you listen to the exaggerated and sometimes lying bile of Shamnity and Limbaugh, do your intellect a favor and independently (away from pundit sources) verify their claims. You may be shocked how inaccurate they truly are. They are partisan wonks, wholly accurate info from them is not common!

on the rest of that copied comment…and my concern is if MY GOP continues to foster asshole-ish comments like this that will only continue the ISOLATIONST (and losing) platforms put forth by the Tafts (the son who lost to Ike in the primary) and such. I have no problem concluding that you’d be happy stuck in the 30 percentile, so long as that can remain group-think. For me, I’d love to see the Progressive Republicans (think TR) – what in the hell happened to us??? – get back to the deis and kick some ass!

  13. nemski says:

Smitty, the one thing I’ve realized is that there are no Republican moderates in the blogsophere, not counting you. Matter of fact, are you the only Republican moderate left — a kind of Soylent Green thing.

  14. RSmitty says:

Oh, I am an anomoly, that is for sure, but I’ve always been told it had to do with some physical feature I can’t mention on this family-friendly blog! 8)

  15. X Stryker says:

    payouts to ACORN

And Art Downs comes in with already-debunked wingnut lie #3! The lies are flying fast and furious from the Grand Obstruction Patricians.

FACT: Zero dollars are allocated to ACORN in the stimulus bill.
FACT: ACORN was cleared of any wrongdoing by the Republican Atty General of Ohio.
FACT: Republicans will tell the same lie over and over again no matter how many times you prove it false.
