Day 3 Of Castle’s Betrayal of Delaware
This morning begins the third day of Mike Castle’s betrayal of the people of Delaware. Oh yeah, still no apology.

That tag is cracking me up, but shouldn’t it read “Rush Limbaugh’s bitch” since Limbaugh is the functional head of the Republican party?
Even if he apologizes don’t believe him.
Trust me.
Yes, Jason. We should judge actions and not words. It’s easy to apologize after the fact.
Hell hath no fury like a Jason scorned.
I agree with UI Limbaugh’s Bitch is a better Name
Just call him a Dittohead and be done with it 🙂
They’re all Limbaugh’s bitches. Face it, the man (somehow) commands 15 million people to listen to him at some point during the week. Say what you will, but his stupidity stretches far and wide. Wide enough that the Sarah Palin-wing of the GOP seems bent on taking over the party for 2012.
You can go talk to Castle in person and find out why he is intent to extend the Bush economic failures at a Chamber-sponsored
PrayerPolicy Breakfast next Tuesday. You’ll have to pay $45 for the privilege, but hey.It might be worth it. Where does the money go? I guess some to the hilton for breakfast but the rest to the chamber for their corporate tax cut lobbying efforts?
Even so – maybe good political theater.
I don’t know how the Chamber works, but organizations that I belong to pay the venue for their services first, then keep whatever is leftover for operating funds or for scholarship funds.
From the yet to be drafted press release for the counter prayer service:
We pray for Mr. Castle to stop blocking economic recovery.
While congressman Castle is inside praying with Delaware’s corporate elite for more tax cuts and bigger bonuses for the people who wrecked the economy in the first place, we are here to pray that decides to break with the corrupt GOP leadership in Washington and instead represent the interests of Delaware by voting for President Obama’s economic recovery plan.
I think rather than go inside – the best course maybe to highlight the fact that insiders, and bloated plutocrats have Castle’s ear – while real delawareans shiver on the sidewalk praying.
But I’m just thinking out loud.
That would be pretty awesome if it could be pulled together quickly. Get folks who can’t afford the fee to see their Congressman, or who have lost a job or who just want to know — exactly — how a failed tax cut strategy suddenly will work if we’d just try harder this time.
They are all starting to look like Marie Antoinette here — Let them eat tax cuts!
I’m giving him till Wednesday to respond to my call regarding where he got the figure it would cost $236k per job created by the stimulus bill.
Krugman shot that shit down last week and he still used it.
This is War baby! Allah Akbar!
wish I could manage the $35, i’d so be there
I’d be game for that. Sounds like a great idea.
Here is a way to think about it: If you make minimum wage, you have to work more hours that the event lasts to get in.
Great talking point fo rthe press release.
Here are some more:
* By voting against the economic recovery, Mike Castle showed that he is loyal to the RNC and not the people of delaware. They wanted zero Republican votes for PR purposes and Mike Castle gave it to them. What else is he going to give them at the expense of the working people of Delaware?
Q: What about the fact that some Democrats voted against it?
*Those people have to answer to thier constituents and Mike Castle has to answer to us , not to the right wing shot callers in Washington.
* We want Mike Castle to remember that he works for us. He does not work for John A. Boehner and Rush Limbaugh.
I don’t see anything in the link claiming any prayer at this breakfast. I’d be surprised if it were, as many business owners are not Christians, and of those who are, many are mainstream rather than evangelical, and so would be more comfortable praying in church.
Geezer, you are right about that and I’ve revised my comment.
Okay – the fact that he will meet with fat cats in the Hilton but will not have a real town ahll meeting about this is still damning.
More Press release stuff:
Q: What about the fact that Mike Castle said he would vote for the bill if these changes are made?
*The fact that he was so eager to spread the RNC lies and distortions about the bill – that is for instance contained money for ACORN – shows that he is taking marching orders from the RNC and people like Rush Limbaugh.
<i.Okay – the fact that he will meet with fat cats in the Hilton but will not have a real town ahll meeting about this is still damning.
That’s not true… IF Castle selects you and IF you are not working when he calls you and IF your phone has not been disconnected – you can listen to Castle in an “electronic town hall meeting.”
Oh yeah. How did I forget about those town hall meetings?
QUESTION???? How many of us here besides me can truthfully say that I never voted for Mike reguardless what office he was running for.
And I worked for the guy when he was an AG
For the misinformed, Congressman Castle has a record according to the National Journal in 2007 of voting 53% conservative and 47% liberal.
The National Journal is many degrees higher on the journalism food chain than this blog.
Castle’s thoughts on the bill are the same as Sens Nelson (NE) and Conrad (ND).
Your blind hatred seems to have blocked your ability to evaluate policy. You don’t seem to mention the 11 Dems by name who voted against it also.
What do the 11 Dems have in common?
It’s boiled down to CYA self-preservation. Conversely, you’ll certainly see GOP senators in blue states voting for the package. Either way, it’s a “Me First” and not a “Common Good” mentality.
I thought fortune favors the brave..do dare is to do…and so forth.
So in reality, I guess it’s your “blind stupidity (or dishonesty)” which causes you to push the meme that the package is inherently faulty because House Dems voted against it.
Get out of here with that weak stuff Mike.
Honest to goodness, there is no threadbare debunked GOP talking point that Protack will not offer up like some kind of tail wagging dog proudly offering his owner a chewed up field mouse.
J – I hear 50% of the package is going to ACORN! 😉
Yep.
30% for making teenage girls have sex with Snoop Dog and Dennis Rodman so that abortions clinics can staff up.
“The National Journal is many degrees higher on the journalism food chain than this blog.”
While this blog here may be “lower” on the food chain, it must still be important enough since you come here to read and comment. . .
