O’Donnell’s Wingnuttery Resplendent

Filed in National by on February 12, 2009

Christine O’Donnell’s announcement is so laden with craziness that it could be picked over from now until the election.

Nearly every line yields a gem. For example:

Every bit helps. Whether it’s $25 or $2500, no amount is too small.

Meanwhile on planet Earth, the max contribution for a statewide race is $1,200.

So she is kicking off her campaign by asking supporters to break the law.

Hmm…check that. I’m not sure if FEDERAL races (which this would be) are different limits or not.

  2. I think federal races are $2300 single, $4600 couple. I’m probably wrong, though.

  3. anonone says:

I think it is $2,400 per race – primary and general are separate races.

So is asking for $2,500 out of line?

  5. anonone says:

From an individual, I think so.

  6. R Smitty says:

Yeah, that would be bad to be asking for that amount, as it clearly states $2400 per individual. Maybe it was an assumption to be from you and your twin? Oh, there also was an asterisk there to say it is inflation-adjustable. Maybe she’s banking on that hyperinflation rate before the ’10 elections. I’m sure there some explanation, right? Right?

  7. anon says:

She doesn’t have a prayer, pardon the pun! She may get the downstate bible thumpers but she won’t scratch the surface in New Castle County, especially if the opponent’s name is still “Biden” in the box above hers.

That being said.. why the heck would you announce you are running for office 1 month and a half into the new session? What could you possibly have against someone who has made possibly 5 votes.

Just another sign of the times, the perpetual candidacy from perpetual candidates facing perpetual rejection.

  9. FEC ANNOUNCES UPDATED CONTRIBUTION LIMITS

WASHINGTON – The Federal Election Commission today announced revised contribution limits which have been indexed for inflation and are effective for the 2007-2008 elections for President, U.S. Senate, and U.S. House of Representatives.

During the current election cycle, individuals may contribute up to $2,300 per election to Federal candidates, up to $28,500 per year to national party committees, and a combined total of up to $108,200 during the two year period to all Federal campaigns, parties, and other political committees. The following table lists the contribution limits for 2007-2008.

Mike, why don’t you primary Ms. O, just for the entertainment factor.

    Screw the Delaware GOP:

Your numbers are so last year.

  12. Delaware Dem says:

    Protack…

The numbers were raised after the 08 election to $2400 per individual from $2300.

his numbers are just as outdated as he is…

If I weren’t such a flawed human being (bad decisions), I’d be much more willing to throw it out there as a seeker of office and show what “sensible” truly is.
