Today Is The Day You Do Something To Help Elect Lisa Diller

Today is a DelawareLiberal “Day of Action” to elect Lisa Diller to the New County Council County Council.

Here are your options.  You can:

– donate money to Lisa Diller’s campaign

– pledge your time and volunteer to help canvassing or making calls this weekeend, or 

(and this one is important)

– simply call 5 people in Newark and tell them that there is a special election on Thursday the 19th.  

Calling people in your contact list (or “hot calling” as opposed to “cold calling”) can have a huge impact in a special election.  Calling people that you already have a rapport with is easy.  

1) Call anybody you know with a Newark mailing address and tell them about the special election (even thought the council district is not exactly that shape).

2) Tell them that the Democrats have a great candidate in Lisa Diller.

– Lisa has been active in the community in Newark for 10 years.

– Lisa has administered a multi-million dollar budget during her previous employment as a state administrator.

– Between being a pastor and being an educator, Lisa has great listening skills which are needed in this position which involves a substantial amount of constituent services.

– She is thoughtful, able to research complex issues and work toward building consensus around resolving issues. 

3) Tell them you are calling because so few people know that there is a special election and turnout on Thursday the 19th is going to be VERY important. 

4) Thank them for voting and if they are fired up about the election tell them what you are doing and ask them to “hot call” five people.  

Simple right?   Pick one of those three items and get it done.

    Mr. J does Diller’s district encompass all of Newark? Specifically out passed the Chrysler plant?

    Thanks a lot, Jason. Any support is appreciated.
    Lisa is already working hard to address issues of concern in Newark. She has been attending civic association meetings and going door to door throughout the district talking with residents for the last several weeks.
    If people do the “hot calls” and they are not sure if a person lives in the 5th Council District, they can check the map or call the Board of Elections at 577-3464 for additional information.
