That was a fascinating way to start my Sunday morning media consumption. Lots to think about there. Thanks Jason.

    Excellent video!

It’s funny how many times someone has said “I don’t have time for that” or “You must have a lot of free time” when they find out I’m a blogger. Two minutes after they say this they’re discussing the latest episode of The Real Housewives of Orange County.

Interesting. Media includes sharing. That’s so true! The tradmed has not quite figured this out yet. Until they learn this, they will continue to suffer.

I love this idea of “cognitive surplus,” but it’s so true. Until blogs came around I was just another passive consumer of media. I was extremely frustrated (especially the run up to the Iraq War) but I felt like I was all by myself. I discovered blogs, and then communities. I have to say that a lot of the time I would have spent watching TV or reading is now spent interacting on the internet.

So I’m wondering if simple having a “comments section” is enough interactivity. (?)

Should this blog along with other like minded blogs have a dozen or so open source “wiki-activist” projects simmering?

    What would that look like?

For starters the SEU. A little digging here might prove very interesting. We’ve already started but it’s fragmented all over the place. Bringing it all together in one wiki might help — that is if I understand what a wiki really is.

Jason, was the pun intended on the post title?

You could always start with a wiki concerning Castle, since there is a lot of stuff on this blog concerning this. My guess is that moderation of the wiki would be a nightmare 🙂 but might be worthwhile considering the amount of time you need to spend following various subjects on this (and not just this one) blog. This way, a reader could just pop over to DelLIBWiki and follow each subject as they see fit.

Mmmm, well, I for one am not going to be the editor in charge of the KWS page.

  9. Unstable Isotope says:

    LOL@xstryker!

I think having registration required would probably cut down on the problems a bit. The administrator could “approve” the wiki editors. Most wikis have a function to restore the previous page in case someone comes along and defaces the pages.

Yes, I would love to see a “Castle watch” as a permanent feature, just to keep a spotlight on what he’s doing. I would like to see that kind of feature for all of our state and local politicians, actually.

    This was fantastic, Jason.

I had suggested sometime back a website for a Tom Carper or Mike Castle watch. But a wiki is a much better suggestion — something that would not require all of us to spend tons of time at.

It would be successful if it included more than the editors here — maybe we could get it started and see if it creates some momentum.

Love the idea of a Castle wiki. Instant op-research for whoever steps up to run against him.
