Another failed Republican strategy? Let’s face it, Republicans aren’t good at subtlety. Did they really believe the American people wouldn’t see their obstructionist tactics as, well, obstructionist tactics?
A newly released NYT/CBS Poll spells even more trouble – if that’s even possible – for the GOP.
A majority of people surveyed in both parties said Mr. Obama was striving to work in a bipartisan way, but most faulted Republicans for their response to the president, saying the party had objected to the $787 billion economicstimulus plan for political reasons. Most said Mr. Obama should pursue the priorities he campaigned on, the poll found, rather than seek middle ground with Republicans.
Ouch! How bad is it when a majority of Americans say it’s okay to marginalize the opposition party? Hope that voting in unity stunt was worth it.
Read the entire article. The blinders are off the American people. We are not expecting miracles. We accept it will take years for the economy to recover. We are not sure if it’s even going to work. But one thing stands out, and that’s the faith the country has placed in Obama. At least he’s trying to fix the problem.
And while praise for President Obama’s plans is tempered with reality, there is no praise for Republicans. None.
Yo, maybe if they rap out their opposition next time these numbers would change.
