Charlie Copeland Done With Politics?

Filed in Delaware by on February 26, 2009

Silliness lays on the modern GOP like Jules Joseph Lefebvre’s Odalisque lays on a bunch of pillows.

At times it is tough to tell if that silliness is just an outworking of basic stupidity (Hube), some kind of “too clever by half” strategy (Burris), or a sign that someone has just plain given up (Copeland).

I put Copeland in that quitter category because, as Tommywonk points out, his silliness is just plain silly.

If you’ve just decided to become the party of no, “Republican’ts,” then you don’t really need to bother with logic or anything.

  2. anon says:

Since when does a Republican talking point need to be “correct” to be effective?

Charlie is bullshitting because he thinks it might work. That sounds like politics to me – the propaganda kind of politics.

What Charlie is giving up on is policy, not politics.

  3. A carbon tax if done correctly would be better than a cap and trade system.

Obama mentioned “we” were going to invest over $100 billion in alternative and renewable energy. That we he speaks of is us and our tax dollars.

As a counter to the above, since when has any democratic talking point been effective?
Could I get one talking point which has led to an effective policy and a positive result?

Tommy did a great job on this post.

And anon is quite right — almost the entire GOP is giving up on policy in favor of the propaganda of the day.

Though I will stipulate that propaganda is likely much more fun.

If Copeland is giving up politcs…does that mean he will give up that horrible hairbrained idea to have a School for Homeland Security with that fool Tom Little?
