Nemski Did Not Make This Up

Filed in National by on February 27, 2009

The Conservative Political Action Conference is going on now in DC, and TPM reports that the BushCo man whose job it was to actually oppose voting rights — Hans von Spakovsky — is on a panel this weekend titled:

“Al Franken and ACORN: How Liberals are Destroying the American Election System.”

They’re documenting more of the atrocities here. And there’s the promise of video….

Hey that’s nothing. Some cat called Cliff Kincaid made a speech at CPAC this week still questioning Obama birth location. How are they going to rebuild if they are insane? It’s a bit tired, no?

“Al Franken and ACORN: How Liberals are Destroying the American Election System.”

You mean the system that has 1001 devious ways to keep black people from voting?

  3. Unstable Isotope says:

So Franken is going to be the new conservative boogie-man? I guess Barney Frank was getting tired of carrying such a big load.

  4. jason330 says:

Interesting. It took “liberals” 50 years in power to become as out of touch, insular, and (let’s face it) daft as it has taken conservatives to become in 8 years with their hands on the tiller.

I suppose that the baseline level of craziness for conservatives is MUCH higher so they had a shorter distance to travel.

  5. pandora says:

CPAC is bringing on the crazy. John Bolton, the undiplomatic diplomat, suggests Chicago as a location to nuke.

Is it just me, or is this getting really out if hand?

  6. Unstable Isotope says:

Yeah, Pandora, they’ve really been getting their crazy on lately. They are a discredited movement, and they’ve lost considerable power because of their own incompetence. I think they’re going through the denial/anger part of the grieving process, but it worries me that they are using such violent rhetoric.

Time for the courageous Republican moderates like Mike Castle to step up and get in the faces of these nuts.

    LOL! I crack myself up.

  8. anon says:

I’ll bet “Delaware’s Center Right Voice” will have some choice words for the CPAC crazies.

Uh…J, that’s takes an assumption that those conservatives ever were in touch to begin with. Yeah, I may be Republican, but that junk is a great representation as to what happened while people like me were busy, with drool rolling from the agape-mouth, being distracted by this daag-nabbit inter-tube-net thingy here. Seriously, the more sensible of us went complacent or saddled with apathy, and these wingnuts changed the locks.

Oh, hey, anon #8: I’m one of those from the center-right (although barely active). Nah-nee-nah-nee-boo-boo. There, let that sting for a while. 😉

  10. Truth Teller says:

Yes and that crazy congresswoman from Minn. telling Steel “You da man” “you da man.” I am surprised with all his talk of being hip he didn’t respond you da ho

  11. Unstable Isotope says:

The same crazy Congresswoman who thought “unAmerican” Congresspeople should be investigated and who voted against the stimulus because “we’re running out of rich people.”

  12. Unstable Isotope says:

Oh, I agree Smitty, the Republicans were never really in touch.

  13. Dorian Gray says:

You know I was just thinking… if this is the depths the conservatives will sink to, will Colbert’s satire still be funny? How will we be able to determine if it’s satire when real life people are saying the same thing. The Franken ACORN thing is like the “Threatdown”. Franken, ACORN and BEARS!!

  14. RSmitty says:

Conservatives, UI, Conservatives. It just so happens they crashed our party (OK, someone did invite them, but it wasn’t me). While we (the not-CPAC-cronies) were distracted by shiny things, they whipped out their tea and pajama parties. Then, the brighter and more logical, yet more easily distracted ones (the not-CPAC-cronies) eventually turned around and said, “WTF happened here? Boy, we reeeeeeaaaaaly effed this up.”

  15. Unstable Isotope says:

OK, Smitty I see your point. Those conservatives were always in crazy kookooland but now they’re about the only ones left in the Republican party. The so-called Republican intellectuals have either been purged from the party or are starting to sound more like their crazy counterparts (I’m looking at you, George Will).

  16. pandora says:

I’m sorry, Smitty, but the conservatives you reference are now the Republican Party. There might be a few like you left, but the real Republicans will take care of you pests soon enough.

The party you seek to relate to no longer exists.

The dark side is calling you, Smitty. 😉

  17. RSmitty says:

The dark side is calling you, Smitty.

Of course, just when I took my light saber into the shop to be fixed, too.

  18. xstryker says:

Well, Smitty, this is one of the things I hate worst about Mike Castle. He was president of the Republican Main Street partnership for most of the Bush Administration. So, Smitty, the reason the moderate wing of the Republican party appears to have no balls is because they were being led by Captain Jellospine. Blame Castle, Smitty, blame Castle, and all his wishy washy useless “howevers”.

  19. cassandra_m says:

The party you seek to relate to no longer exists.

    Sure they do.

And someone at CPAC is right now calling them ACORN Conservatives. There will be a panel on it next year, you watch.

  20. RSmitty says:

Cass….NOOOOOO ( say that with that sort-of-shocked-but-I-shouldn’t-be-shocked-drawn-out NOOOOOOOOOO). ACORN Conservatives? Are you serious?

They don’t even realize that they are wrong in the most basic of ways (republican does NOT equal conservative, much like democratic does NOT equal liberal). These eff-nuts apply fiscal conservatism only when convenient to them and their social-conservative agenda (which is about 80% of their existence) is so anti-Republican (at least when you go back to the likes of TRoosevelt), it’s crazy. So….ACORN Conservatives is a misnomer. ACORN Republicans, fine.

Oooo….now I am getting pissed. These effers are now replacing “republican” with “conservative” where they can. Get the hell away and restart Buckley’s defunct party, you social-policy effs.

  21. anonone says:

    Republican DOES equal conservative.

    Rinse and repeat.

  22. pandora says:

Unfortunately, Smitty, A1 is correct. They’ve laid claim to the name, and there simply aren’t enough of you left to take it back.

After the November election, when talk turned to rebuilding the GOP and its direction, I went out of my way to be specific – conservative, far right, christian right, etc. But I really can’t make that distinction anymore because it doesn’t exist! – except for you, and honestly, Smitty, making an exception for .oo1% of a political party is a pain in the butt! 😉

  23. RSmitty says:

Hey, if it keeps you busy and distracted…

Note to self: stop revealing the master plan. Dope.

    😀

  24. Unstable Isotope says:

William F. Buckley is not someone I admire. He wrote many things that most would consider quite racist.

  25. RSmitty says:

Yup and other things, too. He WAS THE Conservative Party in the 70’s, literally.

    :shudder:

  26. Unstable Isotope says:

I guess I’m not certain what is left of the conservative movement to admire anymore, Smitty.
