Delaware’s Slowness with ARRA
According to Recovery.org, Delaware is not certified for American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funds nor do we have a website for transparency of ARRA funds.
The following states are ARRA certified: Connecticut, District of Columbia (yes, I know they are not a state), Illinois, Kansas, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
The following states have Recovery websites: Colorado, District of Columbia, Illinois, Kansas, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin
This is not unusual for DE; during about 2003-2005 we lost something on the order of $18m/yr homeland security funding just for failing to get our paperwork in on time….
Wait a second, I thought Jack Markell and his administration were the most progressive/together/awesome/transparent administration in the history of Delaware?
Nemski is on one member of the most progressive/together/awesome/transparent administration like like Rush on an underage Dominican prostitute.
AND I LOVE IT!!

So Delaware is among the 37 states that aren’t yet certified – that is to say, the vast majority – and you’re complaining?
Give the guy a little break. I mean, some of his people are still trying to figure out how to turn the lights on in the morning, let alone pull the levers of power.
Actually, it may be that there are legislative requirements to certify us. I think they are back in session in 2 weeks.
At recovery.gov it looks like Governors are just sending in the certification letter. And it isn’t too involved. Perhaps there is a quick in the DE system where the Governor does not have this authority?
But this is very cool. The recovery.gov site does not have an RSS feed (same on you, guys!), but every agency giving out money is supposed to. Would be mice of the Delaware website designers did this too. And would be nice if the Delaware website designers added more detailed data for a more meaningful assessment.
